I posted this in the other thread I started yesterday, if Morey wants AR then it will happen. The 2012 pick looks like a 20-30 selection so the question is....Is AR better then someone you might draft 2 years from now around those choices? I like to see the kid understand that hard work is the key and he hasn't given up in NY. Might be worth a shot to see if Adelman can flip the switch.
Another "money ball" player . Looks great on paper but has the old "knuckle head factor" that statistics don't account for. Morey sure loves him some more soft front court players. Morey is wreaking absolute havoc on this franchise while us poor souls are hailing him as god's gift to humanity... Sad really
Since we are going to probably have a worse pick than the Knicks, we really wouldn't be giving up much. In other words, we give up the right to swap in 2011. In 2012, instead of keeping the Knicks' pick, we have them give us the right to swap, top 1 protected. Then the Knicks can trade their 2011 pick to the Nuggets as part of a Melo trade.
It wouldn't be until 2014 but I don't think the Knicks would include a future 1st rounder with Randolph.
Knicks can't trade their 2011 picks because they did so last year which is why they need to acquire one either for this season or the next.
The Knicks might be worried that he'll sign an extension with the Nets if he is dealt to them this season. That's the only reason why I think the Knicks might be pushing to acquire him this season.
Hasn't everyone been complaining that Morey gets too many good guys and not enough knuckleheads? That's what I thought. Anyways, absolutely don't want Randolph, especially since we don't have room to develop the two young big guys we already have. I'd much more confident Patterson will be something instead of a moron like Randolph.
http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/newyork/chat/_/id/35870 Since Landry Fields is having such a hot start to his rookie season, do you tKnicks are gonna dangle him as a trade chip for Carmelo and is that a good move on the Knicks part? Chris Sheridan (12:28 PM) The Nuggets would want Fields (and Gallinari or Chandler) in any package for 'Melo, and Eddy Curry's expiring contract would have to be in there to make the money work. But the Nuggets are not all that enamored of A.Randolph, who the Knicks are willing to deal, so that is where a third team would come into the picture and take Randolph for a draft pick that would then be sent to Denver.
Randolph has more, much more potential and upside than both Patterson and Hill. 7ft tall super athletic guy that can dribble, score, block shots and rebound. He could possibly thrive in a locker room like ours. What is there to lose? Nothing..
1. whatever you give up to get him; 2. the value of whatever you give up to get him being flipped for something else.
Although i'm worried about him not playing in NY, i still say get him. This season is all but a wash anyway. Why not?
