I just want to put it out there that at the open practice this year, I spotted Morey while I was walking towards my seat so I talked with him for about 45 seconds. One of the things I mentioned was that we should look into trading back the Knicks' pick for Randolph. So, if this ends up happening and it doesn't work out, it's on me. It's on me. Success or failure, it's on me.
whats the point of bringing him? He's gonna sell seats and get stats, he's not gonna win you games. This is like making a trade just for the sake of making a trade, you're not gonna win more games with Randolph, sorry
If we got him, at least Randolph would get some playing time... in the D-League to start. So many people want us to tank to draft a "potential" star when we have one we can get for a first round pick in Randolph.
Putting Randolph at the 3 would be like having Shaq shooting your technicals. He tries to be a 3 and a scorer but he has been horrible shooting the jumper, he should just focus on playing the 4 and being like Ronnie Turiaf, playing D and blocking shots even passing up shots like Turiaf does.
Except this one wants a 5 year, $60 million extension: http://blogs.mercurynews.com/kawaka...-they-know-what-to-do-with-anthony-randolph/?
There is no reason why Anthony Randolph should already be looking at his third team in his short NBA career given his size, athleticism, and skills. There must be lots of issues with this kid off the court. I'm not sure that I want a player like him if we are to start rebuilding. That's also the reason why I'm not on the Demarcus Cousins bandwagon.
well said--and imo--the odds say we wont get someone as good as AR that high in the draft in 2yrs-id trade for him in a heart beat--he is pretty good--and still young--he is what eddie griffin should have been for us all them yrs ago--RIP---but i like what he can do--hes athletic--he can shoot from distance-he plays ok defence--id really like to see him here--cause we all know carmelo isnt coming to houston--hes headed for big market-
Completely agree. Please keep headcases far, far away from my team please. If he can't get ANY minutes in NY, what makes one think he can contribute here? I'd rather focus on developing Hill, who actually tries very hard and has good potential. Hill's case is different from AR's - he was a rookie while AR hasn't even been consistent under Don Nelson, who's probably the most willing coach to play a rookie around.
I'm not sure where people are getting that Randolph is a headcase, malcontent and Stromile Swift dumb (as a few have said) but I personally know people that are in his inner circle and from what I hear, the kid is very upstanding and has NEVER been in any trouble, whether off the court or with his coaching staff or otherwise. He wants to play! I'm not sure why some of you take that as a negative. It would be different if he just said "screw it, I got my check" but he WANTS to get better and understands that that comes with playing time just as much as practice time. As far as this new BS line of thinking, NY pretty much demanded that AR be included in the trade for David Lee which means that they wanted him. How exactly does that reflect negatively on him?
10 pages and no video mix yet? There's no enough to go on to declare him a headcase or knucklehead. It's not black and white folks, some guys are more like the garnetts of the NBA. they have an attititude, but aren't bad people or bad teammates. He brings several things we lack: -attitude -2 way play -game changing abilities -big who can move off the dribble -shotblocking -explosiveness in the frontcourt -mobility to defend pick and roll I like hill, but the guy is not another Amar'e or in the same mold. He just doesn't have the explosion in him. Can he jump high? Does he have a long reach? Yeah, but the explosion isn't superb. AR is an upgrade over both Hill and PP. If all you're giving up is a pick that's very likely to not be a lottery pick, then where is the problem? I think the hesitation is NY knows AR is worth more, but they also want to get Anthony in uniform ASAP. Although they have had an "easy" schedule so far, the knicks can still make the playoffs as they are now, but with Melo they're threats to go past the first round, maybe second. It's a huge building block for them to not only get in the playoffs, but compete in them. And i think this move means either hill or PP will be moved. Maybe not right away, but within a year or so.
Surprised no one has posted this yet..
LOL. Definitely plays with a chip on his shoulder. At the 5:00 minute mark, he rejects Deke and stares him down. ROFLOL
