Article mentioned the Rockets were interested in him for 08/09. They made a point of Arturas Karnisovas contacting his agent. Maybe it didn't even get to the stage where Morey personally made a call? Perhaps he was the backup plan if the Rockets could not sign Barry?

Perhaps you are right hooroo, but I believe the expectations from Barry being able to handle being both a reserve PG/SG is too much. Honestly, I feel this shows our desperation in trying to get a true PG.

I remember someone said the reason why Barry couldn't get minutes as a reserve PG behind Vaughn in SA was because of his poor defense,I feel even if that were so he would have gotten more minutes there if Pop was more confident in Barry. Making an occasional pass out of a set is hardly an indication of Barry being a reliable backup PG. Ironically, Damon Stoudamire is being looked at a possible backup by DM. That clearly shows the disatisfication
with Brooks,Barry,Francis and Head at the 1.

I don't think the spanish club would let him walk to houston unless we offer them scola in exchange. But no way will we offer scola, so it's IMpossible to land that guy even though he may be a great backup for rafer.

He has never been in a NBA draft. How can we sign a contract with him?

There can only be one PG on court,so we must have one good enough, not in number enough. He's worth considerting but not utilitarian.Rafer is good enough considering we don't need more scorers ,and we still have Steve(believe in him, he will come back because he's Francis )and Brooks (he will improve a lot in his second year) and sometimes...Tmac

This just how little confidence the rockets organisation have in francis. it's a shame because this guy would have been a poor mans calderon. he is certianly alot better then steve at this point.

Barry was never projected to be a PG for this team. the rockets want him here as a SG/SF. officially termed as a swingman.

If you are talking about sign tot he roster than that does not make sense at all considering the log jam at the position. Morey, would have to get rid of someone which is unlikely considering the contracts involved. Also, why would we take a chance on a project point guard at the moment. We already have aron brooks.

Isn't the question 'How was he to be paid?'

After all, all rumors seem to be that the Rox are saving every MLE $, the only available BTW, to sign Landry (and Dorsey; maybe even Deke).

Prigioni might be a gamble but he's definately not a project at 31 years.

there's really a glaring need for depth at the PG position..how about trading for sergio rodriguez?

I don't wanna create another thread for this, Daniel Santiago surely is going to Barcelona:

    http://www.marca.com/edicion/marca/baloncesto/acb/es/desarrollo/1168117.html

Barcelona is looking for a center since they cutted Mario Kasun; Santiago would be a very good palyer for them.

Santiago- David Andersen - Fran Vazquez - Ilyasova; Navarro comeback, Basile, Barrett... a Euroleague contender.
