Not to sound rude...but that's silly. The way you rate worth is in the trading market, and I can bet 100% of the GMs in the league would agree to have Tracy for Francis and Cat if the cap let it be.
None of the above. McGrady is a better player and more compatible with Yao than Francis. That doesn't mean they'll win a championship. It means that the team's two stars are better and will work better together than in the past 2 seasons. No reason for hyperbole or over-dramatization.
With all these negatives its a wonder they won 20 games with an average center. T-Mac's just a better player, any GM would have made this deal.
Francis and Yao really hurt each others game. Eventually one of them needs to go. Francis had been on the block for sometime, even himself knowing it. Rockets was waiting for the right deal all along, whether its for TMac or Allen.
The simple answer is that, if Yao is not in Houston, T-mac won't be here, too. The whole trade is not about what the Rockets want to do. It is more about that T-mac singled Houston out to be his destination. As powerful as T-mac is, he got his wish. Statistically, inside players are at disadvantage comparing with wing players. However, big guys have more impact on the team. Take an example of US Olympian team, who in his right mind would predict that Carlos Booser were more important than Lebron King?
Those choices aren't very good. How about because Steve was the turnover king and was shooting poorly? How about because JVG wanted players who would play within his designated system? How about becuase it was such a good deal we couldn't turn it down? Maybe because Tracy's stats destroy Stevies? Because TM is a top 5 player and Steve is a top 20 player? What does any of this have to do with Yao?
Its simple: Stevie Franchise is a Star in this league and is top 5 best point guards in the league right now. T-Mac is a SUPER-STAR in this league and is top 5 best PLAYERS in this league right now.
