If we offer him the full MLE (which I am not supporting), and he accepts, that money AND the knowledge that he would pretty much become our starting PF by opening night should entice him to go to the NBA. And he wouldn't be far away from his friends in San Antonio either. I don't see how this is a losing situation for Scola. ha!

If we have to spend most of the MLE for Scola, and have Butler and Landry- is there still a spot and/or $ for Hayes? He's not signed yet, right?

Mega move if you get this guy to come here and play. High energy dude, play's defense, blocks shots, extremely mobile, can defend pick and rolls, has defensive stride he's not a stiff,He's a willing passer and can hit those mid range jumpers. This dude would be a better fit than darko because he doesn't need to be taught, he is already a super Team player. Shouldn't be a problem in getting him over here if he wants to be featured and he will start due to the lack of 4 power the rockets have on the team.

i'm kinda intrigued by luis scola.

Is vspan still planning to go back to greece? I wouldn't want him staying since he's still in our division and especially with foreigners TP, manu, and TD. That chance to win a ring my be pique his curiosity.

    ^^^

Good enough. We know the guy can play center so there is no need to argue his height.

    Funny... :)

BTW, before people go off the wall with this guy... what does he do on court exactly?

From what I saw, he's a good interior scorer in Europe, but his rebounding is rather ordinary. How is his defense?

From what I hear, we have until the 15th of this month to buy out his contract. That makes it a possible 3 days until we find out if he comes over for next season. The Offseason is just starting to heat up, gotta love it!

    Lol.

"To The Freaking Rockets At Least Trade Them To The East This Is Going To Be The Worst Trade In Spurs History Omg Shoot Me Now"

"Dennis Lindsey is now the anti-christ. This is the worst trade in Spurs history. Scola and Butler for a second round pick and cash. I am outraged."

    "Hey that's right....he came from the....Rockets! I knew it....he's a friggen spy!!!"

"Spurs giving their players away for nothing as usual!!!!!!!"

    "im feeling queezy"

"**** the Spurs front office. Cheap mother @@@@ers"

"The Spurs Front Office couldn't sell their Nolan Ryan Rookie card in mint condition for the price they wanted and they had a slightly used Lazy Boy that took up too much room in the den so they took them down to the Goodwill station on Bandera Road and just dropped them off and asked for a receipt."

There is a small chance we buy out his contract and sign Scola. If not, we still gave up nothing.

Lets hope he has the Argentine basketball mentality. (Ginobili, Noicioni, Hermann, Oberto)

And I don't believe that Morey didn't call him ahead before he made the trade.

I would have to think the Rockets contacted Scola and/or his reprensentation before making this deal. I wouldn't believe they make this deal without knowing he would plan on coming over this season.

My understanding is that signing him wouldn't affect the MLE, since we have his rights.
