the username Jacquescas called this over 2 months ago..props to him and i can't wait to see scola in houston getting that Rockets jersey
I like the clip, and also like the song "American Idiot" by "Green Day". That's one of my favorite LOL!
I posted some videos in another thread. Some of them are in that clip, but some aren't. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=115506&page=3
thanks, The only thing I am worried about scolar is his defense. Draftexpress (from one of your links)said he is a defense liability in this year's euro league final 4. Hopefully they were wrong about that.
He had problems with fouls, and his team can't play without him. Being a rookie in the NBA, he might have it difficult with refs. He is by no means a defensive liability in Europe. Just an average defender.
Would you care to venture a scouting report that has been made in the last 5 years. A guy changes greatly from the time he was drafted to 5 years later.
I'm not worried, he will adjust.. Don't forget were ganna have other guys like Hayes.. Scola has time to adjust to fouls. Also remember Scola was playing in the land of FLOP yes.. the land who has produced some of the most notorious floppers to ever grace a basketball court. So of course the man is going to have fouls.
You'd better check scolar's link: http://www.draftexpress.com/viewarticle.php?a=2030 It is this year's euro final 4. " Scola is Europe’s all-time top scorer and post force, but is a defensive liability and could face foul trouble. " Do your work before you say that.
A poor defender in the PF position, means an overworked Yao and a perimeter defenders being brought into the paint, compromising perimeter defense. I think that a good tall defender is more important to the Rockets than an excess scoring option at this time. Tall teams will bully us in the paint and Yao will get rouged up. I would limit Scola's playing time, until his defense is at a decent NBA level.
Just saw the video. Glad to see that he's athletic, but of course that means a whole lot less coming from the EuroLeague. Wish I could have seen more skill and less athleticism (dunks/blocks) in the video.
Skip Bayless talks about Luis Scola in an article back in the 2005 Draft. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=bayless/050627 Then again, Green is no Scola. Luis Scola almost certainly will be a better NBA player than anyone who will be drafted Tuesday night. You probably say: "Who?" That's why the champions can't stop grinning. Not only did the San Antonio Spurs just win their third NBA title in seven years, but they're also about to add the best power forward playing pro ball in Europe. Six-foot-8 Scola – as fearlessly tough as he is skilled – was as much a force on Argentina's Olympic gold-medal team last summer as Manu Ginobili. Think Manu at power forward. Scola attacks the glass the way Manu attacks the rim.
When you watch him play with a Rockets uni, you will think differently. He will do well. Of course, he needs time to adapt to the NBA. His skills are way way more important than his athletism, he doesn't dunk or block that often. In fact, his game is based on his footwork, the array of moves he has with the back to the basket and his soft hands.
