    THanks....found this in the article........

"Scola is seeking a three-year contract worth between $9 million and $10 million, about a third of which would go to paying the $3.5 million buyout he has with Tau. "

from everything i've seen it was a money saving move by peter holt and SA fans couldn't be more pissed that they gave us what we needed. I LOVE IT!!!

also, you gotta feel pretty good for scola. he is finally getting the chance to live his dream after being held back for 5 years. he has got to be pumped.

Even add buyout money, which is 3 million, still cheap. To be frank, at his level, he deserves MLE, which is much expensive than the salary currently we give him. You don't see a lot NBA starting PFs get paid that price.

oops, so we only pay $0.5 Million for the buyout, the rest 2.5 million Scola pay himself. That's even better.

I think it's no impossible, as long as you guys keep hype like this, some Chinese businessmen will definitely sniff the money smell in this Scola.

Agree, basically we use a whiner to exchange for a winner, super.

In order to make the buyout easier on Scola, I could see the Rockets making this a front loaded deal. Maybe 4mill for year 1, 3.58mill for year 2 and 3.2mill for year 3.

Charlie Pallilo is saying we are close to an agreement with Scola for signing him. No details given though.

Hmm, let me see: I HAVE been upset with what: 12 years of bad moves, bad deal, bad trades. Whatever was I thinking? RM95 appears to dislike anyone who dares to criticize the Rockets' organization even when such criticism is indeed warranted. He appear to equate criticism with disloyalty to the cause - an accusation that does not apply to me. As I have stated on many occasions, I have lived and died with this team since their Hofheinz Pavilion days and that alone should earn me the right to disagree with bad management. If I was not dedicated to the Houston Rockets, I would have become a Spurs or Lakers fan (there are a number of guys in my church who became Lakers fans during their "ShowTime" days because the Mavericks were so terrible) or whatever bandwagoning fans do. No, I have stuck it out because my roots are Houston roots and the Rockets & Astros will always be my teams.

I do like this one deal but I still have very little faith in the front office because of what has gone down before - their talent evaluation is still suspect to me - witness the draft. They have a long way to go before my faith in their scouting is fully restored. I have even less faith in the owner because I don't trust him at all but that's a topic for another day. What I find interesting is how my personal lack of faith in the organization appears to bother him or anyone.

You know what else he is that I have not seen anyone talk about? He plays with PASSION and fire, which was one of the biggest ingredients missing on this years team, IMO.

We replaced our 2 weakest positions with fiery personality guys......the more I think about it the more I think Morey is right on target here.

I am with you, DD. Guys we should give credit to where it is due. Morey did well, I can say that. :)

Not true at all. That would be the smart thing to but sometimes the heart overrules the head. Now that's what I will do but I can understand if not everyone follows suit. Today it's been great for people to feel good about their team. The posts here have been all over place filled with a happiness that has been missing around here for too long.

Hell yes I've been chuckling. Have you bothered to read some of the things that have been posted here about Morey? My comments were downright tame compared to some of the things I've read. Some of them have been downright mean and insulting on a personal level which is completely uncalled for. Then in one swoop, he's beloved by all (well not all but most). That to me is kinda of funny because it clearly shows the emotional pendulum us fans live on. I mean come on: haven't you been LOL today at the kneejerk reactions on the Spurs fan boards as well? And all that profanity! If I didn't know better, I'd swear they didn't just win their 4th championship last month.

I think I shouldn't put myself into this, but I guess what they meant is that "you are using double standards to evaluate things".

You want ppl to wait until November to see if it's a good move, then at the same time, you AREN'T willing to wait until November to see if the drafting/James is good move or not?...

I respect your seniority, but you are really using double standard here..
