Yes, I only listed 15 people - some people appear twice if they play more than one position.

I think darkwarrior's suggestion is probably more well-thought-out than mine, though.

#5 should become the #1 in your list. I don't really care Span.

Wow its funny how that happens when a guy is not even on our roster. He is a free agent the rockets are not going to resign. Where have you been?

I think there are still trades in the works.

The team is still loaded at point guards. And a lot of the point guards are repetitive. And there is value in expiring contracts, and some are even cheap contracts.

    Raefer, James, Brooks, Lucas, Sura
    McGrady, Wells, Head, Snyder
    Battier, Reed, Novak
    Scola, Hayes (FA "?"), Landry
    Yao, Mutumbo (FA "?"), Butler

I don't know if Hayes and Mutumbo get signed now.

But this is an excellent move. It is a great try. Of course Scola might decide not to come to play for the Rockets, but Morey and the Rockets did a good trade.

Give up V-Span, a 2nd round pick, and cash FOR Scola and Butler. Getting rid of irrelevant parts for potential black holes in the line up. I'm thinking that Hayes is not a sure thing to get re signed. Same for Mutumbo. Adelman must decide who are the guys he'll be playing in the Rotation.

    I like Morey - Ball :D

I can't figure out why the Spurs would give such a huge boost to a top Western Conference team. Very confident move... maybe overconfident. Is Lindsey still on the Rockets payroll right now?

They just filled one of our last remaining weaknesses at PF, and did quite a lot for our last one, which is lack of depth.

Jake isn't a bad player, but I think the Rockets want to get quicker.I think Deke will be signed as Yao's backup because of his experience and rebounding even though he has slowed down a lot.

i dont think jake is a bad player at all but a very good backup player for the team, but what was evident was that he was tremendously out of basketball game shape. whenever he played last season it was for limited minutes and his timing was terribly off. i think he hardly played at all past 2 seasons and collecting a paycheck (and a nice one too)

i would keep him on the team but only if he is in shape

Jake is a UFA.I don't think the Rockets will bring him back. It's possible some other team might pick him as a cheap option.

Absolute coolest thing about this deal? Nobody saw it coming. It was completely out of the blue, and I'm willing to bet most of the GMs in the league were banging their foreheads on the desk when they heard the news.

As for the NBA rule that there could be no contract negotiations prior to the trade, here's my guess:

Morey: So how many apples would Luis like to eat in Houston next year, and for a couple of years after?

Scola's agent: I'm thinking 3.5 apples a year. Luis really likes apples.

Morey: Well, I was thinking Luis could probably get by on 3 apples a year.

Scola's agent: No, that's just not enough for a growing boy like Luis.

Morey: Okay, then, would he be okay with, maybe, 3.25 apples?

Scola's agent: Hmmm... yeah, I think he would.

Morey: Done. Man, the guys at ClutchFans are gonna love me after this!
