1) Scola will probably have to pay some of his buyout, but most likely he will be bought out and be a Rocket. 2) A good portion to be determined.
its the best i can do with little time <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v706/stallanog/manipulate/houscola.jpg">
Feigen Blog July 12, 2007 Hitting the jackpot. Rockets land Scola. In an arena full of scouts and coaches, executives and media, there was a pretty good little buzz of conversation going around. Luis Scola was traded. And though that name might not mean much to casual NBA fans, in this room, it's a pretty big chunk of news. This guy can play. He plays with the intensity typical of those great Argentine teams he shared with Manu Ginobili, Andres Nocioni and Fabricio Oberto. He has a nice shot, a great feel for how to use it and will defend with all he's got. And in the five years since the Spurs drafted him, he has become a seasoned pro. He's not a superstar. The Rockets did not just get an answer to Tim Duncan for a guy that swore he'd never play for them again, and a few add ons they'll never miss. They got the rights to a guy teams have been trying to get from the Spurs for years. The trick of course is signing him. But Daryl Morey was permitted to talk to Scola and left those conversations sure that Scola would be playing for the Rockets next season. If he comes, this is a steal, a something for nothing trade. He's not an All Star. But he is a terrific fit. All things considered, this is an even better deal.
Dennis Lindsey is our spy. this is a master plan. next we'll send them bonzi and we'll recive the flopper. ..haha. and then we'll get duncan and dennis lindsey will be a front seat of the ticky tape prade for our 3rd championship.. hahaha.
GREAT trade. I didn't even think Scola would be close to available, much less for Spanoulis! Now, if the Rockets sign Scola and still have some MLE left, give it to Barnes for insurance at the swingman spots.
if you bothered reading any of the posts before hand it was the Spurs that didn't want to pay his 10m buyout a few years ago and it was 5m last year. they just got Oberto resigned and Scola is a similar player for a higher price.
I missed a chance to buy an $400 duo core laptop, and unhappy for that, but I knew something will happen... This is a steal, not sure why Spurs do this
No they're not, the Spurs are one of the few teams in the NBA that will go over the luxury tax. I think they have other plans in mind and will use the saved money on someone else. Say what you want about the Spurs, but they aren't cheap at all.
Did Span say that he would quit NBA even Spurs offers him the starting PG position? LOL, and now Spurs get this headache to persuade him to play for them.
