I know everyone wants to celebrate, but my gut tells me that Melton is by far the best player in this deal. For our sakes I hope it isn't true! I also hope that Knight and Chriss aren't as terrible as they have looked in their careers. Chriss is as dumb as a doornail.
We were always going to lose any trade involving Ryno... that’s what happens when you have no leverage.
I see a lot of people here talking about how Chriss is a bonehead (albeit one with room to improve) but the sentiment towards him going into the draft was that he was a good young kid with a good family who enjoyed literature, among other interests, so he's definitely no dummy. He comes across well in interviews as well. Brandon Knight was well known as being an excellent student as well as an exceptional athlete in college. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think his GPA was higher than Mr. Lin's, though obviously he didn't go to Harvard, so take what you will from that. What I mean by this is that I think the Rockets have acquired at the very least two sturdy character guys. I'm excited for their potential here, especially if Knight can recover well from his ACL injury.
Also, we play the suns 4 times. Trevor and Rhyno will have there “revenge” games and catch fire and beat us out at least 1/4 of those games.
you don't need a link its been posted for about an hr now. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php?threads/rockets-trade-ryan-anderson-to-suns.293186/
I guess I’ll be one of the few in this. I can’t stand the deal, at all. I get everyone wanted to move from Ryno, but, his 20 mil could’ve been the salary needed for a huge move, and while salaries are the same, we lost Melton for nothing imo. I doubt knight or chriss plays, and if they don’t play, then they are the same as having Ryno, minus Melton. I never saw the reason to move him unless to strike at a prime player, it’s just Tillman pocket money, having Ryno on or off roster meant nothing else, clears no cap, we are over the cap for years to come no matter what.
I feel we will flip Chriss at some point this season. Don't really think he fit into our system. He needs another 2-3 years to contribute for a contender team. We are in Win-Now mode. He also would be a much better trading asset for us to get a serviceable piece. Interesting to see what happen next
Go read the Marquis Chriss twitter and get back to us. The dude is a tard, 100 percent. Hopefully he can be our tard.
This has kind of the feel of the Brock and a 2nd rounder trade. I'm glad we dumped salary, but I'm going to miss Melton.
If Melton were worth keeping, we would of kept him. Must believe in the Supreme Chancellor Daryl Morey.
