I'm undecided on this one, I think it's addition by subtraction of Rafer Alston, and its time for the AB show. Also of the times I've seen Kyle Lowry, I liked what I saw. A point guard who gets to the rack and is a decent passer, and he's young.
I have been posting for a trade to get Lowry for 2 seasons running now. And we got rid of Rafer. Thank You Morey.
You mean "is" right? This team did not need to trade Alston. he brought some swagger and toughness that I know I'll miss. He's a good player for the Rockets system..
Well I wont say much until the Trade deadline is past. Like few are saying maybe there is a part deuce. I will say Rafer's true color has shown with Tmac not playing. Maybe Tmac is gonna be playing again?
omg, what a stupid trade. but seriously, mark my words because Rafer Alston was a real good addition to high motion offense. and apart from financial benefit I don't see any good side of this trade. you can now trade other players for a bunch of scrubs
This is perhaps the worst trade we could have made, lowry shoots 24% from the three, averages 3.6 assists to 1.6 turnovers, and is averaging less in points this year than his rookie year. Watch as our ball movement turns to crap with two shoot first, no defence point guards.
The new criteria for incoming Rocket players: Morey: "How are your knees?" New Player: "Just fine" Morey: "What do think of MRIs?" New Player: "What is that?" Morey: "Congratulations! You're a Rocket!"
I'm glad they found Rafer a good home. He's a good guy, and he's going to a good situation, playing for his former coach. This is a bit of a surprise to me, but Morey and Adelman have been hinting at wanting Brooks to have a bigger role on the team. This is his chance to prove himself. I like Lowry as a good young defender, and interesting contrast to Brooks. I haven't seen too much from him this year. Cook ... well, he can shoot 3s and he's a veteran.
To make salaries work. Gersson Rosas gave a very high opinion on Lowry a month or two ago on Rahell/Nuno's radio show.
