Rockets trade Rafer for Kyle Lowry and Brian Cook

I am starting to like this trade more and more, I see what Morey saw in this trade more and more also. Rafer is 32 years old and his clearly not going to get ANY better. Lowry is 22 years old, enough said. I think this was arguably a decent trade for the short-term, but a lot better for the long-term.

I don't get how we couldn't include Luther in a deal, maybe even this one. Luther will totally be useless now...we didn't even get a 2nd rounder for him...

and I reckon we should have got a small exp instead of Cook's contract

 

Cook was acquired to balance salaries. Rafer had around 5 million, and Lowry had around 2 million. If the Magic didn't include Cook the trade wouldn't be possible.

Besides, you certainly can do worse than Cook.
