Two inexperienced backup point guards running the offense? I don't like Alston as much as the next person but trading your starting point guard with 28 games into the season and a brutal March around the corner? Needless to say I am extremely nervous. I hope Morey did the right thing. Take away Lowry's 3s and he does have a very nice field goal percentage inside the arc though. Maybe it might work. Who knows.
I didnt read the 40 pages but you guys really don't understand what kind of player Kyle Lowry really is.. The guy penetrates to the whole with ease. He will get to the free throw line. I love this deal.
odd the official rockets Twitter posted "waiting" about an hour ago... maybe in regards to the press conference? something else? certainly it couldn't be about the rafer trade thats all over the place now
So-so trade. Let's just say Rafer wasn't the player we really had to move. He's a vital cog to the Rockets lineup, but let's hope Brooks will run it well. Isn't Lowry more of a scoring point guard? and why do we always deal with the Grizzlies? Haha.
I'm waiting for all the sports networks and internet sites to start saying how much of a god Rafer is now that he's on everyone's favorite team. Watch Orlando have outragious Championship odds from all these Magic pole smokers. Rafer don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.
Yeah they will hop on his bandwagon in a week or two. This is the same guy that destroyed Rafer and Brooks everytime we played. Why not now? When you got a deal you like, you take it. Obviously Rafer wasnt going to stop Parker, Williams, Paul. Lets give this pg duo a chance. Its younger legs, time to move to another direction.
It takes a while to get into the adelman system and brooks is not ready yet to take the pg role. Judgment based on his past games.
True but I am sure Lowry knows how to run a fast break without turning the ball over or missing layups. I was not a big rafer hater or liked him that much. I always said if a deal came, move him. What did you think you will get back for Rafer.... Sessions? Rondo? Calderon? I can't wait to see Lowry play.
Most people wanna see some changes in this team; however, they are not willing to see players leave (except scrubs like head ). Everybody outside of Houston knows that the starters of Rockets are very unathletic and they assume this team would be always the same team that couldn't pass 1st round if they don't head to a new direction. Until GM became our GM, Rockets are totally different. The team is getting younger, more athletic, with more passion. GM is a business man and he knows the rule of doing business: in order to gain something in the future, you have to give up something now even though we feel painful at this moment. He's investing our future. In GM, I trust.
This trade seems to be just an effort to cut salary for signings in the offseason. Didn't trade Artest: $7.4 m expiring contract Didn't trade Head: ~ $2.0 m expiring contract Traded for Cook: $3.5 m expiring contract Deke & Wafer: $1.6 m expiring I wonder if the Rockets did this trade so that they will be able to re-sign both Artest and Wafer in the Summer. It appears that the Rockets have a cap hold of about $11 m to re-sign Artest so acquiring Cook's expiring deal and letting Head's contract expire would help them do this without going over the luxury tax. http://www.draftexpress.com/nba-player-salaries/team/Rockets/
