I think with Alston, the Rockets will have great chance getting out of 1st round. With Kyle Lowry and Aaron Brooks, Does Morey mean the Rockets concede the season? WTF!!!!!
If fans hate the trade/move, it ends up working great a la Landry and Brooks. If fans love the move, it never works out a la Bonzi/Francis/maybe Artest. Judging from the reaction, Lowry is gonna tear it up.
No but I would rather have Brooks starting, as he will, than Rafer. If Rafer went into the draft next season, he would be a second round pick at best. You have got to realize he was a pitiful PG at best.
I would say a 66% chance this trade makes us worse this season (there is always a chance Brooks and Lowry really do give us a more effective combination). But 50/50 we are better for it next year, and 66% chance we are better for it 2011 and on. Lowry is younger and has way more upside as an NBA player than Redick does.
That trade was good because we have Aaron Brooks running the show now that Brick To My Lou isnt here now. Brooks could penetrate and make shots not like some f***** street baller Alston. Kyle Lowry would presume Brooks role as a backup PG who is much like Brooks could shoot penetrate and has major speed. Brian Cook could streach out the floor when Yao is double team. Yao now has 8 shooters from the outside when who ever 5 is playing on the court could punish the opponents like Cook, Artest, Battier, Brooks, Barry, Head, Wafer and Lowry. (excluding T-Mac aka Olive Oil). and we have filler in adonel foyle who could help defend the paint agaisnt the bigs in the west and help block shots when yao is out for a breathe. we also got wilks as part of the trade but i dont see the Rockets using him as the 3rd string PG because we have Brent Barry playing that role. Wilks gonna be likely released because he plainly sucks and we are gonna be set for the rest of the season and the playoffs if Olive Oil doesn't come back from a miracle surgery that makes him all of a sudden 100% ready. not uh, Rockets not gonna let T-Mac come back and jeoperdize the postseason. to the bloggers who are upset about how they traded Alston because he did so well these past couple of games, he isn't gonna help us in the postseason because he can't shoot worth a crap and if its crunch time and yao is double team and yao spots rafer at his sight and passed to him to have the game winner. who would you have to shoot the game winner, alston or brooks? Brooks because he could shoot the clutch shots and won't choke like Alston who missed 2 free throws a while back. i can't remember the team though. overall, suck it up cause we have a new floor general in Brooks to lead the Rockets back to the gloryland of clutch city and not alston and i like the trade we did. ROCKETS ALL THE WAY BABY!!!!
Under current circumstances of the Rockets, this is a bad trade (Rafer for Lowry). I would give it some more time before judging Morey's decision making. However, i am ready to watch AB0 lead the rockets.
I actually like this trade. I think Brooks is capable of stepping in as a starter. In the games he's started this year he's putting up 14/5/4. Whereas Rafer was putting up 12/3/5. Similar numbers overall, except Brooks has (slightly) better percentages. Especially in FTs.
this is great for the franchise long term. Clears up cap so we can possibly offer artest some money, and if nothing else, we'll have good money for the crazy 2010 year...Plus Brooks can prove he deserves being our solution to the 1 spot. Rafer was supposed to be traded so many times in the last few seasons that its almost anticlimatic when it actually happened. I almost expect Rafer to pull a Chandler and fail his physical
(((((((WTF)))))))!!!!! This is a B/S trade. Why trade when you downgrade your pg position. I understand everyone wanted Raefer out just for the sake of having him out, but who can run the offense now? We are screwed.
Is there any chance this trade is a precurser to us making a second deal? Maybe one to obtain Baron Davis?
what ever piple or stuff morey was smoking i would like to get a hold of that. why would you trade rafer he is a perfect point guard for this team. wow what a trade. the one who really needed to go was she mac.
I've thought about it a bit more. looking at the stats I think lowry is actually an upgrade at the point. if we can teach him to shoot, we win. good move, though I do hope we splash in the summer.
Lowry can't hit the three???? Neither can Rafer!!!!! When did hit hitting the three become the essence of a good point guard?? Tony parker is a great point guard but isn't known for being a prolific three point shooter(31% career) neither is Chris Paul a prolific three point shooter(34% career). Instead of focusing on that current limitation in Lowry's very young career, how about looking at his current strengths. Only 22 years old Tenacious defender Athletic and very able to get to the rack(and finish!) (I am not by any means putting Lowry in the same category as Parker or Paul, but just making the point that three point proficiency does not make the point guard)
