It is about giving the leadership reins over to Yao Ming as much as anything.

I will withhold judgment, but am happy for Aaron Brooks.

I like this trade more if we don't get Cook's 3.5 million player option next year.

Now we know who was messing up the locker room chemistry.

Rafer is old and a very inconsistent shooter.

Good riddance, no more tear drop clankers!

I'm sorry, but I thought we were CLUTCH CITY?????

Rafer has never been clutch, yeah he can dribble side to side, but the open pick and rolls that Yao creates for him, what does Rafer do?

He can't hit 3's consistently, he can't go to the bucket and finish consistently. He can't hit a tear drop to save his life. I'm talking about a 3 foot runner here. If we had Chris Paul paired up with Yao, like in the All-Star game, he would have open looks and open lanes to exploit. Rafer had his chances and we continued to lose, 1st to Dallas when Terry made Alston his B@#$! and Utah.

I'm sorry but Rafer before this season was probably the most unintelligent pg in the league. I'm glad we got Kyle Lowry because he seems to bring that toughness that you can't gauge. He killed the Rockets everytime the Grizzlies played the Rox and guess who was guarding him? I know Rafer has been running the team better lately, but there has been too many times in the Clutch where we don't finish strong, You guys might blame Tmac, but I know the PG runs the team and gets the guys into what we need to be in. A lot of times when we sputtered out by the 80 point mark we couldn't do simple things like post Yao or convert a good look on a pick and roll, or hit a wide open three like K.Smith, Madmax, Elie, Bullard... and on and on and on.

Even Little Nate Robinson was doing Rafer when the Knicks beat the Rox twice this year. Too little too late for Rafer.

We got younger and better with the trade. Kyle will show you ignorant Rocket Haters something you haven't seen or heard...

Morey hasn't given up on the Rox season, neither have the players, that's just hogwash and nevermind Stephen A Smith... We still are in the thick of things and still have a chance to win it all.

Can we expect the AB to be the starter for the Dallas game guys? Even if Lowry is with the team he wont play big minutes im guessing.

haha I agree, people are way over-reacting to the loss of Skip. Sure I'll miss him a little, he was fun to watch sometimes, but come on it's not a big deal, and without seeing Lowry on a daily basis I just don't know about it yet. We will see. But I don't think there are any more trades coming, I think this is it.

Good. Now sign a competent PG in the offseason (Bibby?) and move on. I think we deserve it for putting up with Raferness for the past few years :D

Yeah pretty much, Deal has to be accepted by the NBA still today so he may not play until next week.

As it is, this trade isn't that good. What? Brooks is now starting? You can't be serious.

Yes Lowry will magically learn our system in time right before he never does and we can't even make the PlayOffs. Skip was the general and knows everything about this team and has the timing to get it done. We're screwed.

I'm sorry, but he is clutch, more clutch than most others on the team at least. You can blame him inconsistent, but he is clutch.

nope i think this is it...

Manny (Dominican Republic): Your thoughts on Aaron Brooks as the new PG in Houston?

SportsNation John Hollinger: (3:48 PM ET ) Like him better off the bench -- I think Lowry will be the starter.
