I don't think people will truly appreciate what Alston did for our team until he is gone. He is a bigger point gaurd who could "d" up other points in the west. Although Brooks is fast he is still small. I'll save judgement on Lowry.

That is because they are wrong. He actually gets 3.6 assists to 1.6 turnovers per game. Also his Points per shot attempt is 1.35 while Rafer's is an abysmal 1.05.

For those of you who seemed to react negatively to this trade, take a deep breath, the day is not done yet, I trust Morey knows what's he doing, the man is pretty sharp you know!

Don't we already have Aaron brooks? He's all the things you just mentioned except better. Why do we need two young point guards for the future? Why not keep one solid veteran PG who can help us win now?

I mean, I know we had an uphill battle to do damage in the playoffs this year, but I didn't think it was so out of the question you just completely give up hope and look to next year.

There has to be something more to this. It makes no sense.

    from espn chat

John Hollinger: (3:48 PM ET ) Like him (brooks) better off the bench -- I think Lowry will be the starter.

Seen Lowry look all-world-- against us ( )-- and bet he'll contribute. Saw Cook hit a couple deep threes, in garbage time, last night. He has a nice shot.

You sacrifice yet another season to resign Ron Artest?

I doubt he will resign, guy doesn't even like the team...why should he?

You will see offense slippin' without Alston.

if that's true, Ron needs to show more before I would resign him.

i don't really know how i feel about this yet. rafer, despite the agony of his inconsistent shooting, was a team leader and a tough nosed guy. it's sad to see him go, but atleast he's going to a good team where he'll be starting until nelson is healthy.

as for lowry, i don't think i've seen enough of him to really grade this trade. i know he's young and has the ability to drive the lane, but i just don't see him making that large of an impact on this team.

i'm going to keep my faith in morey though. the man is incredibly smart and i wouldn't be suprised if he had another trade in the works.

    -Re-tool

    -Future

I agree. It may be alittle premature to handing the keys the car over to AB.

Keep in mind, this was the same guy that almost took it for granted in his preseason articles that Artest would be the starting power forward here.
