We don't know the full details of the deal yet. Hopefully, there's a pick involved.

Also, does Cook have a PO next year? That's what it says on Hoopshype.

While Alston has gotten my blood rushing a few times, I'll miss Skip-to-my-Lou

Ironic how it was Lowry that the Grizzlies selected with the first rounder we gave Memphis to take back Stromlie in the Battier-Gay deal, man I love Morey...

Dont like this trade, Rafer may suck on offense, but his defense was great. Lowery that aint much better than Rafer offensively, and his defense sucks. I see our team defense taking a hit. Brian Cook is garbage.

    From Hollinger on Lowry:

2007-08 season: A hyperactive ball of energy who was essentially playing his first pro season, Lowry might have been an all-defense selection if anybody watched Grizzlies games. On a team for which a lot of players were going through the motions, his extra effort stood out. Lowry drew 47 offensive fouls, the fourth-most in the league; on a per-minute basis, the only perimeter player to draw more was the Lakers' Derek Fisher.

Lowry's other defensive metrics were outstanding, too -- among point guards he was sixth in blocks per minute, 12th in steals and seventh in defensive rebound rate. Overall, the Grizzlies gave up 5.7 points fewer per 48 minutes with him on the court.

The only reason he didn't play more was his shaky outside shot, combined with a refusal to acknowledge its shakiness. Lowry took nearly two 3-pointers a game but made only 25.7 percent, a major reason his shooting percentage was so low. He was much better on long 2s, making 44.8 percent, but they were a less-utilized part of his arsenal. Lowry also killed himself at the line. He led all point guards in free-throw attempts per field-goal attempt, but converted only 69.8 percent.

Judging from the scouting report on Lowry, he is basically a younger version of Rafer - poor outside shot, but a decent defender. From the sounds of it, he might even be a better defender than Rafer now actually - Hollinger's scouting report calls him an elite defender already. If he can develop his shot, he might be a pretty solid player for us into the future. For the minutes he gets, he is already a very good rebounder for a PG plus he gets steals and has a decent assist total.

Here is the scouting report I'm referring to...notice Hollinger refers to his metrics - certainly something Morey was also considering heavily:

Dont know why so many people seeing Brooks as a qualified starting PG in this league. He's a liability on defence end. We already had Yao as one in case the opponent play D-Will-Bozer type pickNroll.
On offense, I am aready seeing he could be the next blind-jacking-lover after T-Jack
