Pretty much... Playoff experience CAN help some players. Or it CAN do nothing for some players. While I suspect the best fit line would be up and to the right: players with past playoff experience play better (or less worse... most players dip in the playoffs for obvious reasons) in the playoffs. But i don't suspect its a meaningful correlation and would anticipate the data points to be all over the board.
Us fans just dont understand these types of nuances that make or break players in certain schemes. Back when shumpert was all the craze it was in NY under MDA. Hes been injured and crap over the years, I admit that and admit to calling him on it, but he seems to be back and healthy this year with the kings. Not only has he been very good for the kings, he is a perfect fit. Here's to hoping it's another hidden gem find from Morey.
This! Watch everyone change their tone in a few weeks and talk smack like they knew it was a good trade.
Can’t it be a cheap move that still helps Houston? Yeah I’m not thrilled about it but recognize that Iman fills a need.
Shumpert is a good three-point shooter, a good defender, and has experience. I'm down for this move 100%. Nothing really to complain about unless you were expecting AD or Beal.
Bill Bellicheck doesn't give a crap about past playoff experience. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/01/04/does-playoff-experience-matter-belichick-says-no/ Here's another article that cites studies. Playoff experience or inexperience doesn't seem to matter. http://www.espn.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/38430/how-important-is-playoff-experience So yes, agree to disagree. EDIT: you can probably find articles both ways, fyi... not trying to be like "here's the answer". It's one of those things ... like GLOBAL WARMING!!! Maybe it's real, maybe not, scientists on both sides... lol, jk
Anderson and later Knight/Chriss were useless and taking up valuable roster spots. Shumpert is at least an NBA caliber player.
This idiot also doesnt get that we had offered Miami that exact same package for Johnson and they said no. I dont know what anyone expected to do here. Rockets dont have a lot of wiggle room. Guys like Porter or Beal were at most, a fantasy.
Exactly! At least Burks an create and shoot the 3 at 38%. He’s still going, too, so there’s time for him to develop. Shupert is total TRASH!!! His career 3 point % is 34%. Last year he shot 29%. WTH?!?! F&@$ Morey!
I feel for you man, the truth hurts. Anyway, I've let all the poison pass through me and I can breathe again. Thank you all for helping me through the worst of it. I'm going to go look for evidence that Wade Baldwin is the Second Coming that proves me totally wrong about this deal. And then catch the game.
Honestly the Kings are playing with fire trading Shumpert with Burks. Apparently Shumpert is the heart of their new culture and lockeroom. And they traded it away for what? The upgrade to Burks?
