Great move by the Rockets. Now lets get a backup pf/c and pg and get this season started.

Yes, the small one and the difference in cash.

Well technically we can't give a difference in cash. I mean we could, but it doesn't mean anything because you can't balance out trades with cash. Snyder fit under our TE anyway, so the difference doesn't matter. We just sent an undisclosed amount of money as a deal sweetner.

For all the dollars Shinn spent on contracts this summer, he's still a bottom-line guy. And however much we sent them, it's probably enough to mean something when it comes time to paying their operations expenses.

Remember that time we bought a player who was a bit nuts and pretty much a thug? :)

I was thinking Maxwell-type pickup myself.
Championship sure would be nice...let's start by getting past the FIRST ROUND, please!

I prefer Trevor Ariza but at least they addressed depth and didnt give up too much.

For $25,000 -- $50,000 if he made the team, which he did. And, despite the result, was one of the best bargains in Rockets history.

good move, has everything we need, other than the attitude.

Mentality is overated. Skills are underated.

I'm with most on the Board: Nice "interim" move, but not the end of our off-season plans. I like the decision to bring him in now givin his upside, but if there's no other part to "Plan B" then I'll still be majorly concerned for our first tip-off!!

You know what is funny? I always wondered about Eddie Griffin's laid back mentality. It seemed to translate onto the court. Stromile is Eddie Griffin v2.0 in that regard.

Snyder definately does not have the Griffin/Swift syndrome. I have a little more hope for Snyder. Nachbar was also a quite low-key guy ...as was Langhi. As I write this, why does CD keep getting low-key guys? I bet that is EXACTLY why we traded Rudy Gay.

Stro lacks skills and instinct more than mentality

Giving up a future 2nd-round pick and cash to get Kirk synder who is the #16 pick in 2004 is a good move as long as he would not bring trouble to the team....but still,,,i m wanna emphasize on how stupid it is to trade Rudy Gay away.....Shane is a good man to have, but Rudy Gay is just way way way way way way too much to give up...i hope Mcgrady will not have any more problem on his back, otherwise, we will definitely have a BIG chance to get Greg Oden next year who can play our PF next year......

I agree with you about his instinct. As far as skill, Stro is actually very gifted. That's the reason why Rox had high hope on him last summer.

Allston reminds me of when we had Kenny Smith and Sam Cassell as a rookie often subbed for him at crunch time.

Great we now have a young player with potential to take the place of the first round pick we never had. Fans need a fantasy guy to root for.

very, very encouraging pick up, and for once the price was right.

I did have a little trouble comprehending things for a minute when i first logged on and saw we had gotten Snyder. I would love to be a fly on the wall first time JVG and Snyder meet up :)

After the talk of D Stevenson and Ariza, i'm glad we went with Snyder over those guys.
