I agree. Hopefully, T-Mac & Co. can bring out upswing athleticism aspect, help him develop a balanced repetoire to his game and not 'headcase' the team and us, fans. Evenstill, this appears to be a reasonably good gamble. You know change of venues have done wonders for some players' careers. We needed to get younger and more athletic to compete with the Suns and Mavs. We were getting too old and too slow.

Byron Scott has been known to rub some players the wrong way, so I'm willing to give Snyder the benefit of the doubt. Now if he was dumped by Jerry West, that would be a different thing.

We needed a big, athletic guard, that's exactly what we got.
He might not be the best teammate, the best team player, but he's still young, and might become better in a new environment.
Overall, I'm happy with that move, I see him as a slight upgrade over Bogans.

Mad Max was the quintessential streak shooter...he would hit 5 or 6 one game and then 2 for 10 the next. ;)

I was surprised at his career % too!

790 is replaying interview with CD. Says starting SG job wide open, including Snyder, and that nothing like Snyder available as free agents.

I hated trading away Gay/Swift and the bungling of James, but I LOVE this move. I give credit where credit is due. FINALLY youth, athleticism, potential in a SG who's 6'6"!! This guy is listed as bigger and taller than Sura and Bogans and he's only 23 years old.

Give me a break about the "thug" whining/crying. Thank god they got a guy with some spunk and spirit. His stats last year for the stretch in Dec/Jan/Feb look solid and promising to me.

Back to CD, he explained that they used the lesser of their 2 trade exceptions ($1.6 million) for Snyder. Rockets still have $4.2 mil TE to use.

We'll see how this guy pans out, but I'm starting to feel optimistic about the Rockets again. At last, looks like they have someone who can jump and dunk with some authority. Snyder fills in a big hole in Rockets roster.

Now just don't drop the ball on signing John Lucas.

if jvg cant keep him under control like he did sprewell than i think this might be a good pick up...and i bet jvg has screamed at all his players just like how he screamed at snyder in that picture...

Read my post over here: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=2411167&postcount=267

People don't care about this "thug" stuff directly. It's how JVG is going to handle Snyder that's the concern.

Exactly. This JVG/Snyder conflict obviously isn't as big of an issue as some think. They wouldn't have made the trade otherwise. Unless JVG is on his way out....

That's spot minutes though. I'll be shocked if he starts at the 4 and gets more minutes at the 4 than at the 3 at the end of the season. When Battier plays at the 4, it's purely small ball..against Mavs, Suns-esque. When we talk about Battier playing the 4, it's not for heavily dominated minutes, he's still a wing player by all means. People need to stop buying into it too heavily.

Well, what would you recommend we do the rest of the offseason?

I'm okay with sarcasm, but it's always good to follow it with an idea of what we should do differently.

I think we are Marcus Banks and a Banger away from at least making a run at the WC finals this season. Two more solid role players and I think this team can make some noise in the 2nd round if we come through health wise. :D

How does the signing work with the summer league guys. Do the Rox have the first right to offer a contract or right to match or can any team offer a contract to our guys and they can bolt?

i think we're the only two ppl that are still diggin that Juwan/Miles trade.
my biggest [viable] hope is that we get Jeffries by throwing the whole MLE [in a 4 yr. deal] at him. there's no way that Washington will match that.

I'm with you guys on the Juwan/Miles swap. I think we should get rid of Juwan at all costs.

All i said is he is more nba ready RIGHT NOW, then roy. Roy may turn out to be a better player he probally will if he does not have any more knee problems. Im just talking about at this very second and the comeing season at hand. Im not saying that Snyder is the second comeing of christ. But he is tall, long and atheletic and has good shooting touch. Very simalar to roy , except Synder is Nba proven and has 3 seasons under his belt. Roy as good as his up side and current skills are is just a rookie and will need at least a season to get used to the speed of the nba.

Looks to be a pretty good move to me. Young, tall, athletic...
AND he brings some much needed attitude to this team
