    Um. No.

This is what he does when the team struggles. It doesn't end.

The great majority of players picked after the lottery do not become star players. You are listing minimal examples. Are you even listing on average of 1 guy a year?

Perfect example of spin (no offense).

Add to this he proclaimed he will root for DET in hopes our Draft Pick drops in value.

That's taking whining to a childish LOF level, far surpassing anything Carl Herrera did when we flipped PPatt.

Exactly. Morey is a mediocre drafter. He hasn't done anything to separate himself from the others when it coms to drafting.

    Thanks.

I don't believe locking into Parsons would have cost us Dwight at all. Since well, we already had Dwight. The guy is a douche, but it's likely (though debatable), had we locked into Parsons last year, we would have had a better team.

It's a complete certainty that this year we would have a better team with Parsons and Motiejunas still on the team.

I agree with this offseason looking like a success, but it didn't work out.

I love Morey, but chasing the third star has gotten old at this point. I was in favor of his moves, but the last two trade deadlines have just been really bad. If we had signed Lowry and kept Parsons last year this team would arguably be one of the best in the league.

This year is a waste. He should have gone all in last trade deadline and gotten any point guard, even a rental so we could have capitalized on our best chance ever to win a championship. I think that's his biggest mistake ever.

He has one last offseason to salvage this mess in my opinion. I appreciate what he's done for us, but the constant roster turnover isn't entertaining anymore.

People will get over this when DMo signs his next contract. So many people butthurt when we didn't trade for Dragic, even though Miami traded two first round draft picks for him. Then, Dragic got his $90M contract and everyone said "Ew, that's a nasty." Even in his very best year, he was barely worth that much if at all.

DMo averaged 12/6 in his awesome year. Those are not dominant numbers. 25 is young, but not young enough to say he's got untapped potential, if he can fully rebound from his back surgery at all. He's about to get a big contract this summer that he'll never live up too. You do not pay up for 12/6. When he signs his next contract, everyone here will move on. Just like Dragic, just like Parsons.

The moves that would have cost us Dwight were keeping and paying Patterson and Scola. I know it's a little hodge podge here, but those are complaints he's lumped together.

lol he's in burned earth territory.

Happens. Many Bulls and Washington fans are like that right now to get Gar and Grunfeld fired (since they seem to not be able to get fired by normal means).

I will follow DMo I like him as a player - love the way he plays, I also like watching GS and SA play - because they play the right way, IMO.

I am a Rocks fan, always will be, but I know in my heart we won't win until Morey is fired and probably not until Les sells the team or someone else takes it over.

So "certain purposes" language in #14 of cbafaq.com means the luxury tax limit? Have to assume you verified with Coon, Morey, Marks, or somebody in the league unless there is something else I'm not seeing.

Front-Office Insider: The key deadline deals
By Bobby Marks of The Vertical

    http://sports.yahoo.com/news/front-office-insider--the-key-deadline-deals-233125531.html

    For the Rockets
Houston saves $4.4 million in luxury taxes and falls below the tax line. The Rockets are also eligible to receive a tax distribution from the league’s six tax-paying teams.

The Rockets are now $244,000 below the luxury-tax line.

Although Houston has disappointed this season, getting under the luxury-tax is an accomplishment on the financial end.

False. He's drafted good players despite never having a great pick. Sounds like you want him to be an exceptional drafter. Wide gap between that and mediocre.

I'm a fan of Donatas, DD, as you know. He was the young big who excited me the most. The light bulb went off for him last season - improved defense, improved 3 point shot (two things we could really use), 60%+ from the line (fantastic on this team for a big man and, like Hakeem, I think he will eventually become a consistent 70%+, if healthy), and then he gets injured. If he wasn't going to be a restricted free agent this summer, I think he'd still be here, assuming the organization thinks he'll be healthy going forward. Combine uncertainty about his long term health with a probable big contract offer from someone this summer if he does prove to be healthy the rest of the season, and the move by Morey looks more reasonable. I still wish we'd kept him, but Morey making this move wasn't the act of a desperate, foolish man.

So we're left with that hole at the 4. The situation there is no different than it was before, because Donuts hasn't played enough to really count. If he was ever going to play at last season's level this year, we'll see it in Detroit. If he plays like he did last season the rest of the way for the Pistons, then you should get ticked off and it would be more understandable, and if you have reason to, don't be shocked if Morey goes after him in free agency. He's brought back players before, more than once. Until then, stock up on Tums.

Couldn't hurt. As of now, the best thing we have is Harrell and he's still just a rookie.

That's not really true because with him coming back TODAY, there was a chance that we had a solution to the hole at the 4 on the current roster. Now the only hope for a solution at the 4 on the roster is Harrell and that's a long shot at least for this season.

Being past the trade deadline and being left with Harrell and garbage at the 4 is pretty depressing actually.
