We give up our only TRUE low-post "non-dunking" scoring presence and our only above-decent bench scorer for the corpse of Joel Anthony and a draft pick????????? If Morey was as good as say a Sam Presti or RC Buford at choosing 1st Round draft picks as he is at choosing 2nd Round draft picks, then I might :)confused:) be somewhat excited about this.

The pick has the highest value of the bunch. It tells me that even in the face of adversity we have a General Manager that behaves rationally.

IF that happens I will go to Houston and throw an egg to Morey myself.

We sold low on DMo because of the situation.

The Rockets have completely sucked this year (some of which you can point to Morey, but on paper at least everything looked like it should work). And DMo has not played and been injured.

Whereas in the offseason one might have thought Rockets were good, DMo comes back and performs at (or above!) last years level, and you can then either (1) trade him and get real value back, or (2) keep him and be excited to resign him.

As it is, I can easily see Marcus Thorton being the more valuable player to the Pistons, in that he might actually play, and be the scoring sparkplug off the bench for 10-15 minutes here and there.

No. I felt he could help the team and still has upside but there was a significant risk given health and limited sample of strong performance.

Given this year, I wouldn't be surprised with anyone moving. Anyone.

Exactly. Dmo is probably my favorite player on the team but even I can see this was a good move. Dude probably will never be the same and even if he was, he will be a RFA this summer.

Perhaps we made this trade to open up the roster spot in order to make the trade work with Utah for Burke. Still doesn't move the needle.

lol you would want Frye making 8mil a year over a lottery pick to be used in another larger trade?

Or he will use that pick to draft another white forward that can't play at all in the next draft.

I honestly thought Dmo could be our PF of the future..not a superstar but he is a very good role player....unless morey needs a first round pick to chase that third star/trade howard...i really don't understand this trade

Morey knows he's getting fired so he's blowing up what he built. Harden for Joe Johnson coming up next.

Don't we also lose our first rounder this year if we don't make the playoffs?
