http://twitter.com/#!/paulcoro/status/40968480115269632 @paulcoro Paul Coro Dragic said he was "shocked." After the Suns plane landed in TOR, Nash saw the news on the Web & told Dragic before he turned on his phone.
It's not about who is the better player, it is about who is the better team player and who will have better chemistry with the other players. I am fine with Dragic.
Rockets will regret this move. Brooks was a guy who on any given night could be a game-changer in the playoffs. Lowry's game is designed for the regular season. He won't be much of a factor in the post-season. I couldn't care less about Dragic's one lucky game in the playoffs last year vs the Spurs either, but even he may prove to be a better playoff performer than Lowry. They won't be calling those flops in the post-season.
I'm with you now as well. Weren't able to attract what we needed to go forward. Its all over for this year, lets get some picks.
If you watch the press conference Morey explains why they traded Brooks. Brooks would have demanded too much money to keep both him and Lowry. We got a bargin for Lowry. Lowry is a better overall point guard than Brooks was anyways.
Huh?! I thought if they make the playoffs their pick comes to us? Plus we'd be the ones using that pick to trade up in the draft!
I like this trade from the standpoint that AB was basically not being happy here in Houston. Plus, he is very demanding, and I think Kyle Lowry will reward the organization for putting trust in him.
I disagree. This was about either letting Brooks walk for nothing in return, or getting something better than nothing. That's how I classify Dragic and the pick. Much better than nothing. We've been over the stats. Per 35, he gets one more assist than Aaron with a side of two extra turnovers. I guess it's good team ball to throw it away instead of taking an ill-advised shot, but the results are shockingly similar.
Thanks but I'm really being a little b**** about Aaron and this trade. I'm shockingly emotional about it. I think watching him in Oregon, in Pac-10 play, in the NCAA tourney, and then defending the pick when so many people on here were ragging on him sight unseen... I got more invested than I knew! Pretty funny and weird. I think the trade is better than not having traded him. But I do think Dragic is already overrated on here something fierce, so that's what I'm having fun with. A two-man game of Dragic and Thabeet (two of the most turnover prone players in the NBA, period) could be amazing, in the same way that a blind person shooting skeet is amazing. Lower tier tickets will drop in prices, just due to the danger factor.
What the hell are you talking about? No one is putting him up as the next Dwight Howard, Yao Ming, or even an All-Star. Its very rare these days to find a 7 footer that can walk and chew gum at the same time.
At least Dragic is a 6'2 PG who likes to attack the basket while Brooks is 5'9. I can see more defense anyway and which is a good thing.
I've been a big fan of AB's since he's been with the Rocks, although after seeing Lowry run the team (such as it was. the team, not Lowry), I concluded that Aaron would be better suited in the 6th man role. I don't know if the pick and Sessions will end up being a good enough return. I really don't. Of course, I don't know who our coach will be next season, either. With luck, Sessions will be a good fit and we'll get value, eventually, for the pick. At least AB went to a team with a future Hall of Fame point that he can be mentored by. He sounds excited about the prospect. Outwardly, anyway. Who I really feel sorry for in the two deals is Battier. Shane going back to the Grizzlies? He didn't deserve that.
