Looks like we got Memphis back for swindling us into trading our 8th pick in the draft for Battier. Now they had to take him back for the 2nd pick in the draft, plus another pick. Karma is a b****! ;)

    All,

I think this works well for us. DM tried to trade for everyone and the kitchen sink, but no takers. Grabbing up the first rounders could be great for us and we could see a Blockbuster trade come draft time (optimistic I know, but I have to dream!)

Go back and read. It's a lottery protected pick, no sooner than 2013. :(

Foiled again. Thabeet better pan out or we better not resign his ass (or Yao's).

I agree. Thabeet has rebounding and hand problems. Those are not things you actually fix, all jokes aside. But I assumed getting the pick was the real point. But that looks flaky, so I guess Morey really wanted Thabeet.

I honestly think this speaks just a tad bit of panic. Or, that's too strong. But sometimes you're playing poker, and your pair of eights just isn't that good, and somebody calls your bluff. That's probably the most accurate version.

Is it better that we have Thabeet and this 2013 pick instead of Shane's expiring? I guess so.

Not a word in this whole thread about Goran Dragic:

    Position: PG
    Born: 5/06/86
    Height: 6-4 / 1,93
    Weight: 180 lbs. / 81,6 kg.
    From: Slovenia

Here's our tall, athletic PG who can shoot. Good job, Morey. Like the Thabeet move and the picks too. Two thumbs up!

    Yawn ...
I liked Shane a lot. But he is 33 already ...
OTOH, I am not getting my hopes high on Tahebeet. The kid is still in the league b/c he is still young and high lottery pick.

Next comes the Rockets PR department.

Memphis did NOT pick up the third year option on Carroll's first round rookie scale contract last October. This means that Carroll (and his $1.085M salary) come off the books at the end of this season, and Carroll will be an UNRESTRICTED free agent.

Hopefully we can change the "SH" into a "K"

let's see what the coaching staff can do. for now, if he can rebound and block shots that would make my day

Don't know how Thabeet will turn out, but I really like the Dragic move. That guy is a real point guard with the ability to make plays. He didn't get much PT behind Nash, but he was really good in the playoffs. And he and Vujacic hate each other--which is another plus.

Plus, two first rounders. Not a bad haul indeed.

Sorry to hear Battier's gone. But maybe T-will will get some more PT now.

    Hoping the best for Thabeet.

Loved Battier while he was here but Rockets needed to get bigger and this trade does that.

I don't think Thabeet is an elite center but should be servicable.

    I like the trade.

NBA TV is saying Ish went to Memphis too.

He can block shots, play D, and clog the paint. Thats something we need. People are overreacting. Battier for Thabeet was good enough but Morey got the cherry on top with a pick. Great trade.

Seriously? Looks more like a bankrupt man's Luis Scola. He elevates more on his jumper than in the paint. Gerald Wallace was in the slam dunk contest.

Just found out about Caroll being in the trade. I'm a long time Mizzou fan. Caroll was a guy who flat out hustled and he created his offense on the defensive end. He was a guy who could guard shooting guards to 4's. He's loud, agressive and plays with a lot of passion. I haven't seen a lot of him in the NBA but coming out of Mizzou I saw him as a potential high energy reserve who could help out on both ends.
