I dont care what anyone on this board says, this guy has potential. He's got Dwight Howards post moves and shot blocking times 10. My bold prediction is "IF he gets nearly as much PT as Howard, he'll be twice as dominant throughout his carreer in the NBA".

Just like DM said in his press interview, big men take time to develop and by my calculations all Dwight and Shaq could do when coming to the league was dunk and block shots (oops still that's all they do) so to say Hasheem Thabeet is a bust is very ignorant on every doubters part.

Do you know how many players have averaged 5 blocks a game in the history of the NBA?

    Two.

I read a post up there somewhere in which Thabeet is being bashed for liking soccer over basketball which got me thinking, so what??? Take this example:

My passion is not people it's animals and guess what; I'm half way through my medical carreer and never gave veterinarian school a slight thought.

I can be the best at what i do and not be what drives me to be that person. Those are my 2 cents regarding this young man's basketball future.

We basically lost our only form of defense, but I just hope Thabeet can be the replacement. Pretty please :(

In his defense, he has never read the CBA. Ever.

Adelman should realize that Morey folded the tents on this season. I'm sure Morey already told him that. They have to sit Chuck and Luis down and scale back Lowry's minutes to see what these youngsters have for the remainder of this season. We are going to the lottery and we need to make sure Phoenix barely makes it to the playoffs, preferrably as the 8th seed, so that pick is as high as possible. Between that pick and our lottery pick, if we don't get in the top 3 (not likely), then we may be able to use the PHX pick and the Clips 2nd rounder to move up a couple slots to get one of the 4 or 5 impact players in the 2011 draft.

And bottom line is, with nothing left to play for, it makes no sense not to start Thabeet and let him play until he fouls out. Him, Hill, and Patterson need to be getting major burn at the big man slots.

Hopefully Rick understands and accepts this and hopefully Morey works out an extension with him to bring him back. I don't see too many coaches available that would be an upgrade. We going to go back to unimaginative offense with somebody like Sloan or Van Gundy???? I really don't want to go there. I like Adelman's offense. It is free-flowing and is made for smart ballers, guys that have skills, that will move the basketball, that understand the importance of squeezing value out of each possession. I hope we keep Adelman. And I hope Adelman lets go of this season and plugs in Thabeet, Hill, Patterson, Terrence, Dragic, Lee, and Budinger so we can get a clear handle on their upside and who, if any, of the group is a prime time baller.

I'm just going to get on record and say I like this deal. I've seen Thabeet play for Memphis a bit. I watched him play in Connecticut. He hasn't gotten there yet, but he's young. He's exactly the type of guy to take a chance on.

Well, he really is hopeless right now. BUT... Memphis was his first destination. Let's see him here for sometime under new coaches and change of scenery makes him work harder. He is tall there is no doubt about it. All he needs is work ethic like Griffin. He needs to spend hours in the gym with greatest and he will be an impact player.

Morey should call Olajuwon or Mutombo to coach Thabeet.

....if Thabeet was destined to be the next Mutombo, he would have gone as the #1 pick locked.

I think one of the reasons why battier was traded is because all of the all stars on the west aRe shifting to the east. What's left are the guards players like Kobe, Manu, Ellis, etc. Now it will be lee's job doing the dirty work.

The previous paragraph represents my best possible attempt to defend the fact that my friend Daryl traded a quality player for a package headlined by Hasheem Thabeet. Put it this way: Until yesterday, he's called me within 12 hours of any trade he's ever done. Not this time. Which bummed me out because I was excited to congratulate him for beefing up his D-League team.

you better check the vid with Yao and him going through a training session

the kid is raw as f***

it'll take a year or two to bring him to a NBA level, and thats still a maybe considering his willingness
