Dam I knew it was coming but it still hurts. Good luck Shane although I wouldnt be surprised to see him in a Rocket uniform or even as a coach in the future. Oh well there goes our leadership.

I think you underestimate Chuck's leadership. Scola is another leader on this team. Both are constantly talking to the other players on the court about positioning and the like. Perhaps more important? They give the team a great example by busting their butts every minute they're on the court, physical limitations not withstanding. That's leadership.

Dang it. I wanted Perkins, an overweight player with 2 bad knees and that doesn't jump.

I remember people were talking about Carroll and his liver condition.

According to wikipedia, he isn't expected to need a transplant for "another 20 years"

So hopefully he can get that when its needed and lead a long healthy life and have a productive career while he is in the NBA

Me and you must be on the same wave length today. You are right Chuck is as much a leader as Shane on alot of nights and Scola has been a leader everywhere he plays including the European teams he was apart of.

No........I'm hoping there is actually some winning invovled.

Lets be honest, for all his scoring Gay hasn't done much of that ever since he's been in the NBA.

This. :( All the best to Shane, all the best.

Battier offered these thoughts in an e-mail to FOX 26 Sports: [rquoter]I am looking forward to bringing playoff success to the Grizz' this year, something I was unable to do in my first five years. I will miss my friends and the city of Houston and will always remember the good times.[/rquoter]

Best of luck to Shane. He will be missed.

    ...

Since Ish going with Battier to Memphis:
    [rquoter]
Ish(from on tv): I got a call from coach. Meant a lot to me. Coach telling me he was hoping to coach me more but it didnt work out. He has been great help. Special to hear from him. Not sure whether he'll retire or not but he's a HOF coach.

Smith: Houston, for the short time I was here, the Rockets were great to me. The GM and coaches gave me an opportunity, an undrafted rookie, to show my potential and what I can become. I'm glad to being going with Shane, a guy who has mentored me and helped me so much.
    [/rquoter]

Best of luck to Ish too.

If he'd just wag his finger after every block, I could squint and enjoy myself!

I guess today's trades were the best the Rox could do. I hope some how the Rox can become relevant again. I'm not overly excited but wasn't expecting much because if the Rox could have pulled a blockbuster, they would have done so way before today.
I hope by some miracle Thabeet can live up to his high lottery pick now that he is a Rocket, put he really looks like a big clumsy stiff. :( We'll see.
Best of success to Battier, except when he plays the Rox ;). He's always been a class act professional.

We don't know if he will play against us. We don't have any games against Memphis left this year. He is expiring contract... so may be he comes back to us :D or he goes to east to play for Boston... and 2 times we play them, he is out because of sickness (not injured) :)

I think you underestimate how terrible our team is. We could be the Cavs in no time.

I doubt Battier will make it back to the Rox. I wouldn't mind if he could finish his career here but I doubt it. Rox are going in different direction at this point it appears and trying to semi rebuild.

Let's be honest: we're there now. We lost our best perimeter defender, a starter, and our best sixth man (sorry, as much as everyone hates him, that was true.) We are going to stink, hard.

Battier hasn't been the deciding factor in winning or losing games in a long time. We lost him but got a 7'3 big that we desperately needed. I don't know about the rest of you but I'm tired of the Rockets being undersized at EVERY position.. You can have all the talent in the world but size matters a lot in this league

Sadly I agree. WE are a step away from being the worst team on the league.

I understand what your saying. However IF Battier is in fact that important you would notice a huge drop off within these next few games. If he is and we lose big time? Better draft pick. So he not only got us Thabeet, a first round middle pick. Also he got us a higher draft pick if we start to lose. If we are slightly worse and get a higher draft pick which is most likely. We weren't good anyways. Then that is still better than having him and winning 3 to 4 more games and losing one or two spots in the draft. I see your logic and it is right. Only it is part right. We are already terrible with him and only slightly more without him. Its better to get something out of being terrible than staying terrible and moving nowhere.

? Record wise, the Rockets are practically as close to the Spurs as they are to the Cavs. I don't think the Rocks can be the Spurs in no time. I don't think the Rocks can be the Cavs in no time.
