Rockets trade Aaron Brooks for Jordan Hamilton

Is Hamilton really that good of a defender? I don't think he was known as one before he got here. I think everybody may have just known that we needed a 3&D player, and we just assumed that's what Morey got us. He looks to me to just be a no-discipline chucker.

 

Everyone keeps beating a dead horse by mentioning Brooks defense. I think we all know that Lin is a better defender than Brooks, no one is going to deny that. It's Lin being able to play within the offense with the starters. Aaron and his spot up 3s would fair much better than Lin attacking the basket, jumping in the air and throwing a wild pass last second or blowing a lay up.

Lin can play Wonderboy with 2nd stringers all he wants, we needs his aggressiveness then. It's a whole different ball game when he is sharing the court with Harden, Parsons, Howard and Jones.

Lin can be a real threat with 2nd unit but unless he can relax while playing with the starters and hit the 3 ball at a regular clip, he just won't mesh with them.

Hamilton was decent tonight, sure was a hell of a lot better than Casspi. His defense is far better than Casspi or Garcia as well. I have no clue why he doesn't get the lion's share of minutes between the three.

Casspi won his battle in the third which was huge and set up the starters to win the game. Hamilton doesn't do that. I thought casspi's defense was okay. He misinterprets things sometimes but guarding the wing and post he did okay. If he made some of the shots in the first half he would of done better.

 

Nup, had enough of Casspi. Have no confidence in him whatsoever.

 

You have to give Casspi some credit for his third quarter performance. He's getting better and doing his job it's not the end of the world like some want it to be.

 

Hopefully next Trade Deadline Morey thinks long and hard before making some random deal just for the sake of making a deal.

They should have played Hamilton over Garcia - at least give him a chance to show the Nuggz up like Brooks is doing us.

It would have been nice to have him, but AB will probably get the contract he has worked towards. After having that axing year everything just went wrong for the guy tbh

Brooks got shut down in the latter half of the 4th and OT. If you can't beat Lin, then you are a joke!
