That's not true. Number 1 is dumb and number 2 is dumber than number 1 but while number 3 is also dumber than number 1 it is not necessarily dumber than number 2. And number 4 might actually not be dumb as Canaan does have pretty good handles.

For what it's worth, Jordan Hamilton is a beast in 2K14...with a nice shooting stroke from downtown.

if you look at the shot curry made, if he had to do it 2 or 3 more times i don't think he'll make it. between the harden step back, the oneal, block and curry layup and the missed free throws which no one seems to be mentioning houston wins.

i'm okay with the move. can't say i "like" the move because i think Brooks is still a starting-caliber point guard who was shooting the 3 extremely well for us ...when he was on the court. But it's clear that the Rockets just have too many bodies in the rotation right now, and Brooks would have needed an injury to really get the playing time he deserved. I do think that it's a slight risk, given that an injury to either guard would have necessitated prolonged court-time for Brooks, and the drop-off would have been small. As high as i am on Caanon, I don't see a rookie just being able to come in and replace everything an Aaron Brooks can do. On the other hand, we really don't have anyone behind Parsons. Casspi is inconsistent and Garcia is having his worst year. I'm optimistic that Hamilton is going to come in and slide right in and fill a badly needed role. He appears to be a well-rounded player who should only get better. It's nice to add a shooter, and it's nice that he's not a horrible defender and that he's not one-dimensional. I'm thinking a taller rich-man's James Anderson?

I wonder if Morey tried to get a 2nd round pick for Greg Smith at the deadline. I don't see how he gets any minutes at all with Asik back healthy and Dmo/Jones locking down the 4. He's gonna walk for nothing this offseason. Kind of feel like we developed him and now some other team is gonna pick him up on the cheap and reap the benefits. Would have been nice to get something for him.

    He has 3 jobs.

    1. Don't completely suck on defense
    2. Hit open 3's
    3. Rebound well like your stats show you do

If he can do those 3 things (and I think he can), he'll get rotation minutes.

Number 2 is completely wrong and is the reason Lin is the backup PG and Canaan is third string. Number 3/4... would like to see Canaan in NBA before saying this, but give Lin benefit of the doubt for the moment.

That said, Number 1 is not dumb. Canaan is the better shooter well at least from three point range. Canaan will have trouble with mid range due to height.

Only to completely disappear in the playoffs thanks to McHale.

Hamilton is another player like Casspi... on the verge of breaking out but they can't all break out can they? The league would be full of capable 15 ppg players.

Yep, but Morey will try more players on the verge of breaking out than anyone to increase his odds.

Spurs don't seem to have a problem finding breakout players.

It's coaching and finding niches for talent.

I hope/wish Hamilton could be a legitimate backup for Harden for 12-14 minutes a game at the 2 only. If he can't, we are still in trouble as playing Lin at the two too much is not an answer during the playoffs, just like playing Harden 40 minutes and more will ultimately cost us.

If Hamilton could succeed in that, and we could pick up a player like Granger to back up Parsons for the same amount of minutes, then we could go a long way in the playoffs.

Hopefully that would cause Garci and Casspi to stay on the bench completely barring injury or foul trouble; and hopefully McHale would stick to a POSITION rotation pattern so that players can understand their roles better:

    PG: Bev/Lin
    SG: Harden/Hamilton
SF: Parsons/Granger (or Garcia if no one picked up like Granger)
    PF: TJones/DMO
    C: Howard/Asik

This team needs to play ten players and let every player learn and master the role of his position for this team to be successful under THIS coach. Give me a smarter coach, and then we can make other adjustments.

If we somehow signed Granger to this team for 3 years on a cheap contract it would be really beneficial.

Sure. Spurs are masters of doing it. They had their third star figured out.

We have not. And we are second tier in finding those 'overachieving players'.

Jesus their is no incentive for any team to offer anything fipurther than year to year, unless it was like 1 year + team option with some guareenteed money.

But my guess is he gets vet min - Partial MLE for the rest of his days

Have you seen him play this season? He's just not the same player anymore after the injuries.
