Well, I didn't mean that Barkley implied Rockets/Celtics/Pistons/Spurs suck at defense, but rather that their style of defense isn't anything to marvel at. If this is the case though, why are there only a handful of teams out of 30 doing this?

What Barkley failed to acknowledge was the fact that in order keep your opponent's score/FG% low, not only do you "walk the ball" on the offensive end, but you also have to be able to control the tempo of the game on the defensive end as well.

That is something that not any ordinary team can do in my opinion.

what Barkley knows about defense could be lost on the head of a pin.

He's actually a surprisingly pleasant guy when it comes to the fans. But he's definitely a blowhard. He's usually funny, but facts aren't really his strong point. Especially like you said when it comes to Houston or Phoenix.

    How incorrect can you be?
WE do not need a vet Point Guard who can hit the open shot..........
we do need a Point Guard who is a good playmaker and can hit the occasional open shot. I mention this because there is a suttle but significant difference! :p

Rafer will be okay once he gets the grasp of the new options he has to go to.

His shooting always comes and goes, but like I think Clutch mentioned it wont effect the outcome of the game nearly as much as it did last season.

I don't know what his deal is with us. Is he bitter because he came to us to win and never got a ring?

Even if we win it all he'll probably just say how it is a fluke and we don't belong in the books with the great teams, etc, etc.

Even after 16 straight wins last year, he wouldn't give us credit. We had to hit 20 straight wins for him to say anything nice about the team.

The Blazers paid Francis 30 million dollars to disappear......they would just laugh a Morey if he called them up with that offer.

Barkley is clueless, I can see him saying that the rockets walked the ball up the court under Van Gundy, but not under Rick Adelman. The rockets were whipping teams last year by large margins, their defense was much better than solid, it was suffocating at times. You don't win 22 straight games with an average defense, it's impossible.

I believe the Rockets will be in the finals this year. This is our year just like last year was the Celtics year.
