Well Millsap will be making more. Anderson will be at $20. Say Millsap is at $30, Rockets throwing in those other non-guaranteed deals. So the Hawks do "save" $10 million... but they save $30 million by just not resigning Millsap. Anderson + Gordon? I can see them want to do that in a try to stay relevant in the East move. But that seems like too much to give up to me for Millsap, even though I really really like him. Unless DM thinks he can replace Gordon with a Gordon like players in other places
Millsap should be our next target. He got toughness that we need. Maybe we could get him to come for $20m-$26m. Then move ariza and the exception for Paul George. (maybe gordon and the exception)
[ArizonaSports.com] John Gambodoro - June 29, 2017 - Report: Free agents Blake Griffin, Paul Millsap will meet with Suns Free agent forwards Blake Griffin and Paul Millsap will meet with the Phoenix Suns after the NBA free agency moratorium period begins Saturday, reports John Gambadoro of 98.7 FM, Arizona’s Sports Station.
If you know you aren't going to end up on a team that can compete for a ring, getting paid $130+ million to live in Arizona isn't a bad consolation prize.
I think we've seen that Gordon isn't the kind of player Morey can just go out and replace by finding some diamond in the rough in the junk pile. He was key to the team's success last season and losing him would be a really big loss. I hope they keep him. That said, Millsap is at the top of my list for the next acquisition. He could be our Draymond. He'd provide some defense and toughness up front and do all the little things well.
Will Blake consider the Rockets, if the Suns sign Millsap? More importantly will CP3 want Blake to play along with him and Harden?
It's all about his relationship with Paul, if the reports about them not liking each other are true i guess there's no chance.
