Agreed about Johnson/Reaves getting matched and Dillon Brooks being an egotistical mess

I'd imagine if Lopez comes here, knowing Udoka, you'd probably see some two bigs lineups with Sengun at the 4 alongside Lopez. probably still gets 30 minutes a game.

Maybe Jabari starts at the 3, or maybe he backs up both frontcourt spots?

Honestly, Lopez is a veteran and he wants to win another ring. He will only come to Houston if we overpay him and sign more veterans. I believe he is going to stay with Milwaukee and Giannis. Brooks can’t shoot, he just bully people. Van Vleet is going to want 30 million plus. I really want Harden on this team! Van Vleet is ok, or we sign Pat Beverly to help with defense. Lopez is going to want a lot of money and Giannis is not going to him go.

This is what we should do, we need a veteran PG, SF who can shoot and interior defender. We should:

-sign Harden or sign Van Vleet or at least Pat Beverly and have Amen Thompson as our backup point guard

If we draft Amen then go hard after Cam Johnson, if the Hornets draft Scoot and Blazers draft Amen he have to draft Brandon. If we draft Brandon we will not have to go after a big time SF but after Grant Williams (a bully, bruiser, tough defender and 3 point specialist…he shot over 40%)

it is going to be hard to get Lopez from the Bucks, we need to get Myles Turner or Isaiah Jackson from the Pacers. I would trade a 1st round pick for either one.

    if Harden does not come?

    32 million to Van Vleet
30 millions to Cam Johnson, this would price out Brooklyn and then he could do a sign and trade with KJ(his dad played there before) and TyTy for Cam
Give up a draft pick for either Jackson or Turner for a draft pick and player.

They would keep Lopez over Middleton…he was hurt all last year and they had one of the best records in the league without him. They love Lopez because of his size, interior blocking defense and 3 point shooting…..

Vincent and Middleton would solve quite a few issues with this team. Add a shot blocker and this is a playoff team. They need guys that can play defense and shoot the ball. Vincent and Middleton fill this bill.

Out of the list, I probably like Brook the most. His current salary is $13 mil per.

$20m overpay might be ok ... But that might be the highest I'm willing to go. $25m is too much.

He's a good vet, but bear in mind in the playoffs when Giannis didn't play, and Lopez as the lone starting center, he didn't play great (both ends). If he's a backing to Sengun/Jabari, $20 mil is already a very expensive backup.

I like Lopez but I think he's slightly over hyped here. Just a smudge. :p

Bucks are worried about their payroll, 18-20m might already be too rich for their blood.

Yup, but Lopez only takes $25m of our cap space, leaving us with $35m. I don't think we have to sign an expensive PG, we could just as easily go with a Schroeder plus our draft pick there. However if there's a player who is really worth the contract, I don't mind spending up to $30m on a PG who is a good fit.

I think SF is the least pressing need, we should try to just supplant Tari and Tate with a vet minimum 3&D guy. Someone like Justin Holiday would be plenty. Jabari can switch between the 3-5 positions. I think we'd be fine.

We need shooters. Tate cannot shoot at all, Martin is a average shooter. We need a good shooter, either Cam or Grant Williams and a interior defender

He’s a fake tough guy with overrated defense and a poor shot. Hopefully he turns his nose up at coming here. Do.Not.Want

Yeah, Milwaukee's payroll is insane, especially for a small market.

I mean, they can keep Lopez and trade us Giannis?

Here are the teams with the most projected cap space if anyone is curious who might be bidding against us

Lopez was being paid 13 millions last year, and they are way over their budget and the owner is going to pay luxury tax again….three years in a row. I would give him a contract at least…22 millions to piss off the Bucks. So we over pay Lopez for 22 million, overpay Cam for 30 million and give Pat Beverly 8 to 10 million? Draft Amen…please.

    Wow, what a crazy off-season?

Dear God. How many of these articles are going to keep mentioning the rockets interest in Dillon Fn Brooks??? And this specifically on a bloated short deal rumor…

Stone can’t be that stupid regarding brooks … can he?

Rockets are under pressure to win now. Sacrificial Lamb St Stephen is gone. Expensive rehab coach is installed. The free agent pickings are slim. Victor prayers weren't answered.

They will investigate everything including Brooks - it's the last shot.

Yea Tilman wants wins but Brooks would not help in that category

Most people on this board are smart enough to sign other options or just start Tari or many of our other options instead of signing brooks to start at SF… but is stone?
