Wingspan and standing reach. You don't defend with the top of your head.

It's yet to be seen if he defends at all against NBA talent, there's a reason why he basically got run out of the NBA for the past 3 years.

He was a knucklehead if I remember correctly. His rebounding percentage was elite level though.

That's a good way to describe him, we'll see if he's learned anything during his banishment.

Yeah I just looked him up. His rebounding percentage was Dwight level basically albeit in very limited time. Only 43 total games and 14 minutes per his last year in Toronto. If he can duplicate that, he'll be just fine and he should be a better player now. I think he will definitely be able to rebound and by all accounts, he is a good rim protector now as well. If so, that is all he needs to do in order to be a productive backup center on this team.

I would rather sign the real Ray Lewis instead of "Ray Lewis with a basketball".

Yeah after looking at his numbers, he produces Asik numbers. If you adjust for pace (using per36 or per100 possesions) he basically has the same stats. Crazy high rebounds and like 10 ppg. Now that was 4 years ago, and now he's been in Europe, so I'm not exactly sure how he'll transition back in, but I bet he'll do decent. From a numbers standpoint, he's a good player for a good price

How's his defense? Rim protecting, post defense, etc, anyone know?

And he's one of the top defensive players in Europe. People need to get a grip and realize he will be a bench player and very serviceable at that.
