I don't think this means a trade is imminent. After watching the last few games, Rockets are playing Brooks and Lowry together a lot and by the end of the second and third quarters, they are both tired or out of energy. I think they are bringing in Conroy for energy purposes and playmaking ablitites.

I'm glad they are finally sending Taylor to the D-League. He is getting no playing time with the Rockets. This will be our first chance to get a good look at him.

I'm assuming that you don't have any background from sources (Deep Throat, Rockets Version) on this particular issue (would love to be proved wrong!), and that you're giving us your opinion. I just wanted to say I'm glad to see it. Being the very busy guy that you are, you don't do these kinds of posts nearly as much as you used to, but I've noticed a definite uptick in that regard lately. Just wanted you to know that an enormous number of members, gigantic, really, love to read your takes on any and all topics Rockets related. Doesn't matter if it's "insider" hints or leaks. I get the biggest kick when you uncork some posts just like the rest of us on subjects of interest. Take this as a plea to do more of that, like the old days.

We're here because of the Rocks and because of you. Phil Jackson is often referred to as the "Zen Master," well you're our Zen Master, the dude that makes it all happen, and I value what you say more than any posts from any member, up to and including Doc and Popeye (when he was around). When you're posting, we all feel like: <div style="display: block; margin: 10px auto; text-align: center;"><embed src="http://media.entertonement.com/embed/OpenEntPlayer.swf" id="1_d827f336_0c25_11df_9299_0015c5f4d265" name="1_d827f336_0c25_11df_9299_0015c5f4d265" flashvars="auto_play=false&clip_pid=qjdvvpkcgq&e=&id=1_d827f336_0c25_11df_9299_0015c5f4d265&skin_pid=wfxswdnlkf" width="300" height="30" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" allowscriptaccess="always" wmode="transparent"></embed><div id="1_d827f336_0c25_11df_9299_0015c5f4d265_anchor" style="font-size: 8px; color: black; text-decoration: none; display: block; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.entertonement.com/clips/qjdvvpkcgq--abides-Big-Lebowski-The-Dude-Jeff-Bridges" style="font-size: 8px; color: black;" target="_blank">abides sound bite</a> &nbsp;<a href="http://www.entertonement.com/collections/4482/Big-Lebowski?ht_link=1_d827f336_0c25_11df_9299_0015c5f4d265" style="font-size: 8px; color: black;" target="_blank">Big Lebowski sound bites</a></div><img alt="abides sound bite" border="0" height="0" src="http://www.entertonement.com/widgets/img/clip/qjdvvpkcgq/1/1_d827f336_0c25_11df_9299_0015c5f4d265/blank.gif" style="visibility: hidden; width: 0px; height: 0px; margin:0; padding:0; float:right" width="0" /></div>

And my take on the recent games?

I love Clutch as much as the next guy, but come on...

Anyways, remember when Von Wafer was waived in favor of Conroy by the Clips?

You don't share my sense of humor. I get it. Take your "roll-eyes" and park them where the sun don't shine. I don't use that particular emoticon. It's a cheap subtitute for words.

Do you seriously think I need to do that? And don't you think images of your own nose should be in hangout?

I'd say the same as I had with the Harris move -- they are bringing guys up so we can see how each of them fits with the team because after the trade deadline, we might have roster spots that need to be plugged. Conroy, Harris, Dorsey, and Taylor can't replace any of our rotation guys, but they can keep a seat warm if we lose some people.

Sure, I will. Tons of teams carry 3 PG's on the roster, and it was somewhat of a surprise that the Rockets haven't all this time, especially with our often 2-PG line-up.

Lowry is not going to "get paid" much more than he makes now. I expect him to be here for quite a while after resigning during the off-season.

Obviously, I'm not as confident in my predictions as you are because they're merely predictions, not well-known facts as you seem to indicate.

My guess is that Conroy won't get any minutes (much like Mike Harris when he was called up). He'll simply take JT's spot on the bench and only be used in trash time or when someone gets injured or in foul trouble.

As Morey said this morning on 610, it'll be surprising if he gets a second 10-day contract since JT will have played through the frequent stretch of games at Rio Grande Valley.

Y'all are just reading more into this than you should be, probably because you feel the pang/need of a trade.

Just a prediction on my part. Watched Conroy on preseason extensively. HE IS A BETTER OFFENSIVE PLAYER THAN LOWRY. Not quite as strong and bulky defensively, not capable of defending SGs as well as Lowry. He does everything else BETTER. Morey is a moneyball guy. I suspect he knows that Conroy will give us everything Lowry can give us, especially if the dynamics of this team change with a true SG that can defend 2s and can get to the rim, finish, and shoot a bit. The combo of Iggy and Conroy is a huge improvement for this team. I believe Morey is looking at Conroy as Lowry's low cost, value replacement as a backup for Brooks, running the 2nd speed unit.

Once again, I love Kyle Lowry. But, in my opinion, the difference between Lowry and Conroy is not enough to warrant paying Lowry several million dollars a year more than what we can get Conroy for. I will not be surprised when Morey trades Lowry and signs Conroy to a 2-year guaranteed deal for league minimum. That is moneyball management.

Haven't watched Conroy much, and if you're right, he's only a stopgap until Sergio Llull is ready anyway (who sounds a lot like a bigger Lowry anyway).

That being said, does Conroy push the pace and draw fouls at the same rate as Lowry does? Keep in mind Lowry is the biggest change of pace player in the entire NBA, a skill which is much needed for our particular team, especially with Landry/Budinger on the floor.

Is it possible....POSSIBLE....that JT needs to get some playing time, and will be called back and shipped out in the deal to Philly? With or without Lowry?

If he goes WITH Lowry and Tmac, then, say, if there's a question of overlapping roster-count problems, you "send Conroy back down" (hell, he probably wouldn't even go to the airport in this scenario), and when the deal is done (hours later or so), Conroy is "called back up", and you march out:

    1. Aaron Brooks, Will Conroy
    2. Iggy, etc etc

The answer is YES. The greatest strength of Lowry's game, which is his ability to collect fouls and get to the FT line, Conroy has. And he's a better shooter and a better passer.

Why do we bring up guys from D-league, let them sit on the bench. Send them back. Bring up another guy, do the same thing. Whats the point of this? We dont have injuries to cover at the moment. We havent made a trade that left a hole to fill. Why bring them up if not to play them? Why not just leave then in D-league?

JT is a keeper for now. So is Budinger. I can't envision either being dealt, especially JT who hasn't shown much in the NBA (so why would he interest anyone?).

I'm getting pretty excited about JT, to be honest.
