The reason is actually very simple. Harden has nothing like MJ, skills, heart. Adding Harden to the Warriors team, let him to take same amount of shots with similar FG% in his playoffs, not considering defense, would Warriors still win over Cavs? That is a very big question mark.
why do people use hypothetical stuff like this as if it is valid reasoning to support anything. you know why it's a very big question mark because it's not actual reality lol. makes no sense. what does harden have to with any other team besides the one he's on now and who he is. I'd say nothing
nobody is comparing them. he was just used as an example of how people on here think they can do much better as a GM
What are the Rockets to do? The only way to win in the NBA is to have at least 2 superstars on your team. You don't get closer to getting 2 superstars by getting rid of one of them.
I think people are free to talk about their opinion, It doesn't mean they have to be in GM position. Not all GMs are good at their job after all.
sure they are but again when something doesn't really make much sense then that's where the reference is coming from. you're now trying to make it a general statement when we're talking about harden here specifically
There are people who dislike this extension, including myself. Sajan said clutchfans would hate on MJ in his prime. I replied to his post that there is nothing similar between those two players. I do not see any hypothetical stuff.
you don't see any hypothetical stuff? well that's odd because it's right in front of you. read your own post again that I quoted orginally
So is he going to sign it? I don't think I've seen the Rockets leak their intent to offer an extension without it being signed? Is there an official deadline?
People do not like Harden, so they have to hate MJ on his prime? Because they play in different era, you have to put them in the same environment and situation to compare them. That is why I cited this Warriors team. The only thing I did not type is this: put MJ into this Warriors team, they'd sweep Cavs, or put MJ into the Cavs team, they'd win the finals. It supports my point. there is nothing similar between them. hypothetical stuff? do not think so.
If you allow a player 1). play zero defense to conserve energy for offense and 2). give him unlimted with-the-ball time and 3). 8~9 turn over/game, then half of the PG/SG/SF from any team in NBA can be a top 5 player. However, team with such player as alpha dog will never win the final.
What's the point of maxing Harden and going for Paul and George when we could just tank, acquire assets and in 4-6 years we could possibly though unlikely have players with the talent level of Paul, Harden and George? Short sighted Maurey. That and the North Carolina thing. Silver is a pretty modern commish.
what are you talking about lol. who is hating on mj. again these two are not even being compared to as players in actual context. it's called an example to illustrate a point that Sajan was trying to make. you completely missed the whole point of that post. so there's nothing hypothetical about putting harden on the warriors? remind us what jersey he wears again. im not sure. also i don't see any point that any of that supports. it doesn't make sense
It would look really bad for us if he turns it down. So many teams would be ready to pounce when he nears his contract opt out in a couple years
Of course the things you mentioned don't all apply to James Harden, but even if they did, your last phrase doesn't make any logical sense. Half the pg/sg/sf in the league can't be top 5. Only 5 of them would be able to be top 5.
Sounds good. I hope Harden takes it and we can continue to build on the successful season we had last year.
