And don't forget Harden had to defend both 2 seven footers in Aldridge and Gasol for most of the series. Harden was incredible outside of Game 6 which will probably haunt him for a while.
I see. It must be one of those selective types of asthma that flare up when he's on defense and subsides when he has the ball on offense. Why do you think that is? Is leather a natural remedy? Maybe he could start wearing a leather wristband?
The contract extension has nothing to do with his narcissism... but the dude is a textbook version - not that many athletes aren't... Can you honestly tell me he doesn't view himself as more important than his teammates and even the team in general? We can run some of James' greatest hits... cornerstone... those who matter dont mind and those that mind dont matter... too cool for the team bus or dining with the team... Chloe... no team pregame huddle- needs to go do his own thing... general aloof behavior... and so on... c'mon the guy made Ariza lose his ****... thats on par with pissing off the pope...lol Kobe was the perennial narcissist... and I understand you have to deal with those kinds of mentalities - but lets not lie to ourselves about who he is...
Strange thing is we still lost to spurs badly, without their 2 starters. There must be a reason. Is it Harden who performed so well, or is it Morey who build such a good team?
This offseason has truly been no different than the last 4 offseasons. Heard the same stuff after the OKC, Portland, and both Golden State series. Game 5 and 6 this year definitely triggered both me and the rest of this website, but it hardly is a distinguishing factor. We see this every year. So while you mention Games 5 and 6, they will be, in time, largely meaningless in the eyes of many. They will be forgotten by next year and replaced by a new moment/game when the Rockets are eliminated for the anti-Harden group to latch onto, and we'll see do the clamoring all over again.
lou williams and eric gordon didnt show up in the spurs series, and ryno ddint up at home at home at all during the playoffs.. But i understand harden as the best player must take the blame
Why can't/won't people wrap their brain around the fact that it wasn't a 'poor performance' - he flat out quit... He got butthurt for being called out for giving away game 5... figured screw y'all then, I aint even gonna shot and see what happens... 0 shots and 0 rebounds through a quarter and a half of an elimination game.... I'll begrudge anybody a bad game, a drought or even declining talent... but being a butthurt diva that quits on his team and fanbase... naw... thats where I draw the line... You gotta stand for something - or you'll fall for anything... Show me anything before we roll the next armored car up to his house... an apology... an explanation... recruiting.... I think it was Codman who was saying at somepoint we're gonna have a Roy Firestone/Jerry MacGuire moment with Harden regarding game 6.... still waiting...
clutchfans would hate on MJ in his prime. every poster thinks he/she is the best GM in the world with amazing scouting skills. The rest of the nba are praying and hoping for a top player like harden to be on their team...and we are trying to get rid of him..for what?
If I am the Rockets I lock Pat Beverley into that deal now. That's still an extreme bargain and would have Beverley under control for 5 years and $41 million.
I'm about the most vocally pissed off at harden for quitting... and even I'm not saying you kick him out the door... or trade him for a handful of beans... but I would however entertain offers... and probably pull the trigger if we could get a Herschel Walker type haul... Anybody that wouldn't listen to offers is the dictionary definition of 'close minded'...
We played small and their bigs showed up to play. You can only get away with playing your PG at PF for so long.
Harden talks about his asthma in his E:60 documentary, but I don't recall him saying that he doesn't treat his condition [7:04].
that's because no one has ever hinted that Harden has never treated his asthma . . . until this dude today.
Guess Harden and Morey are completely satisfied with us being mediocre until the Warriors get old. If we're going to lock up Harden, we might as well lock up Bev for the next 4 years. At least the regular season won't be boring.
I think we all know he needs help out there. This was the first run with MDA and his system. We got shooters, now we need another playmaker or two and a defensive big. I was mad at James for the way he played in games 5 and 6 (especially game 6), but I also know we need other players that can do their own thing and not have to rely on him to set them up. All the good teams have players like that. So if james is having another 'game 6' moment, give it to the other guy and let him put in work. Right now, we don't have that guy.
cmon man, there are too many racial issues in this country to grasp at straws. Adam Silver laid the hammer down on Donald Sterling. What evidence is there that he's orchestrating sentiment against dark-skinned players?
