I notice that a lot of people just fall in love with guys like Anderson, Jamaal Crawford, Marcus Thornton...probably because hitting a deep bad three is way cooler than scoring a post move like Scola or D.Mo.
D'Antoni system requires the big setting the screen to not just pop for shots, he has to be a threat to dive to the rim, and while diving also be able to make a pass if need be, like Marion or Melo. IF your player is just a threat to pop for shots (like Ryan Anderson), teams will just switch on the screen, and he won't get a shot and the play will just be reset. So it's not simply a matter of just being able to shoot. Also, he's shot 35% the last two years, not exactly good for a PF these days, definitely doesn't justify the extreme negative on defense.
You said he's ONE OF THE BEST 3pt shooters in the league...i said no, not even close to 40%...you said "go look (to find out you're wrong)"...and it turns out tha YOU are wrong since 36 is not close to 40 and certainly not close to the best shooters in the league so, take the L and shut up.
I actually think that if we do find some --real-- defensive minded players we could be a top 3 seed again. Beverely, Ariza, Dwight were defensive minded without any good defense, at least last year. But no, what will fix the problems we have would be two way players. And if you're paying 18-20million, that's who you should be targetting. I'd rather pay Barnes 18-20 million to play the 4 than Ryan Anderson, because at least theres upside there.
rather stick with pfs we have if anderson is the best pf we can get. beasley and harrel are a decent pf rotation then dmo is a high risk high reweard. if we keep ariza, since he's regressing he can play a lot of small ball 4 and even p ut on weight. need to spend money on perimeter players, not a position we have a logjam in.
His % is more than respectable. If U don't think then your standards are just not realistic. People these days are just spoiled with the likes of klay and Steph's %s. You're pointing out one minor detail on what MDA used to run in the past based on his personnel. That doesn't mean that his entire offense or what he will continuously run now. There still will very much me a morey philosophy entailed within what MDA will do
Someone has a hard time reading and comprehending. Like I said find other bigs that are able to shoot as well as him. You came up blank bc you couldn't and made up some lame excuse. You obviously haven't been around long enough to understand career numbers and how they are interpreted as far as shooting
Maybe. We're better off paying Horford 25M to play the 4. Now, a big that's a threat to shoot, rim protection, plays plus defense, very good passer
Adding just defensive minded players is not going to add 15-20 wins to become a 3rd seed. So i definitely cant agree there.
That's better than what we have. And it's would leave significant room to improve further with cash and trades. All this doom and gloom before Free Agency even starts is weird. Well... this is CF, so not really.
Lol ok, so Marvin Williams is not a pf. Deng played the four a lot and pretty well, he also played the 5 for some games actually... Spoiler
I would prefer horford of course. He's the better player obviously. I merely said from the beginning he would be a solid pickup due to him being one of the best 3pt shooting bigs in the league without regards to any salary.
Playing areas in spurts doesn't make it their natural position. Harden has played the 4 quit a bit but ü won't find people trying to put him at the 4 on their respective teams. Whether positions to ü matter or not , I'm speaking in terms of a players natural position
You guys are the absolute worst! Everybody loves the idea of signing a player till its actually a possibility. Then you all complain about it!
And that's ok, but Williams is playing the 4 in the last 5/6 years (at least), i mean, we're talking about a true pf, he was used at the 3 sometime in his first years but he's 100% a pf as today.
