I think Jones will definitely be traded. Man drserves some PT but he wont get it here. I likr smith but id love to get a legit 7'0 backup. Lin/Bev Harden/??? (Reddick or Foye) Parsons/Delfino Smith OR Millsap/Motie Asik/??? (Mozgov? O'Neal?) That has some potential.
Thanks BB! It's members such as yourself that keep getting this info passed on. Everyone here act like no writer, or real "source" has ever been wrong. Heck, Woj has been wrong plenty, Vecsey, Bucher, Broussard, Stein... You are only as good as your sources. Just remember, sometimes people (sources) tell you things because they have a hidden agenda.
Why is this thread 8 pages long? You don't have to be a Rockets insider to know what they're strategy is. Maybe they like Smith/Millsap a little more than some on here think or knew. Maybe they like them both to the extent that ends up being the option that works for them. OP himself said it. In the NBA you have to have options A,B,C,D,E etc, etc, etc. the only thing remotely interesting is the comment wrt Mchale... but frankly I think McHale probably isn't happy with McHale in certain games. His rotations have been his weak spot. But to his credit, he's not had a ton to work with wrt to the type of frontcourt players who need who have the stamina and ability to bang and shut down the lane and rebound late in games. Anybody that thinks McHale would be playing small ball if he had Zach Randolph out there isn't following our roster. His PF rotations have been Scola/Patterson his first year and Patterson/Morris/DMo/nobody his second year.
I honestly dont have an answer for all that. I know it's McHale who isn't always on the same page as Morey. Morey is pushing McHale to play Brooks, but McHale is hardheaded. McHale doesn't get much input on trades etc. Only Morey and Rosas have the power and then it gets signed off by the CEO and Les. Smith is needed as a backup C, but the Rockets don't see him permanently there. They want a more legit C. They looked at Lou Admunson for a second, then backed.
If they lowball him like they have with our other low picks in the draft because they were picked low I'll be pissed. The kid can ball and needs to get paid due to merit alone.
Stern is going to be gone so Its going to quell a lot of concerns about signing SVG. I can see him getting a job in the league right after...probably his brother too.
My question is, why would the Rockets organization disclose this information to the OP or his company.
Dwight Howard would merely be Ron Artest revisited -- moderately productive for one year and then trade bait because Morey is afflicted with accute trade fever.
I did ask about that actually, but not for the summer. You have to understand, he makes about 20 million... Takes a lot to get him. But I asked about when the trade got cancelled haha. They said they were PISSED, but glad it worked like it did obviously.
Cyberx, What is the projected price range for each of Millsap and Smith? Also, what are they looking at for backups at SG and C?
Impossible! The Arcane Riddler known as Doc Rocket is Lore of the Bored rather than the titular Clutch, aka Lord of the Board.
Thanks - I wouldn't mind taking Pau as one-year rental trading Garcia who LAL could then decline his team options. Include a 1st round pick and provide LAL luxury tax relief. If not, I rather they go after Milsap and I hope it's a 2 year deal with the 2nd year as team option. This still leave the Rockets as major player for 2014 offseason.
