If it lands us Nene and Dalembert, not so much.

I agree. Basically, he's in his last yr at 5m, most guys getting the axe are higher salaried older players.

If Hakeem Olajuwon is Jesus, Hasheem Thabeet is the anti-christ.

Problem is, our roster is already stacked with young players.

The amount of time it takes to get Thabeet from complete scrub to below average rotation player would be better spent on playing guys like Hill, Patterson and in the future D-Mo.

We have to dedicate a lot of our staff efforts and possible playing time on a player who might not even get much better.

That being said, I prefer to keep him around longer unless we're clearing cap space for Nene.

Bill the Rocket Guy writes "Rockets close to using amnesty clause on Thabeet" --- not a stretch. It's a no-brainer that it's a good possibility since they would have had to do that to sign Nene in the Pau Gasol trade route, and likely in the Plan B to sign Marc Gasol as well. Please don't start a news thread on ClutchFans called "Rockets To Amnesty Thabeet" based on a tweet like this.
