Did the Martin trade only happen because the Warriors blew out the Kings last night?

How often do players play the night the team agrees to trade them...

    TY, Curry and Watson!

So are we discussing who to draft this year now?

If we didn't have the rights to Llull I'd say we need a third string PG, but we can just buy Llull out and be three deep there too. We are basically three deep at every position now

I guess I'd like us to draft the best guy who can play C. It could be a PF/C or a true center but it needs to be a guy who can back up Yao and maybe be his future successor as our go-to big man.

How about Cole Aldrich if he falls to us? 6'11" with a 7'4" wingspan, agile and athletic.

The Kings NEEDED to get rid of Martin. They were -10.4 with him on the court, -1.1 with him off. Their record with him in the lineup was 4-18, without 14-18. Personally I don't want Martin at all, but trading arguably our best asset for him is a bad deal no matter how you slice it.

    100k views. Sweet holy moly.

Good day to be a Rockets fan, I have to say. I'm glad Morey is on our side.

Carl, love ya man, wish everyone played with heart like you, you will be missed.

I think its a waste to have Cook just rot on the bench, he could have been traded to a team like the Nets for cash & draft picks, I have my opinion about the trade, and I'll support my guys, but I can't say I'm happy to lose Landry, what if Scola decides to leave? At least with Landry we had a great backup

Disagree on the first point. Usually the way the option works, is just that -- an option.

If for example, the Rockets are worse than the Knicks, we would just not go forward with the swap. We wouldn't get to take it in a later year. I can only imagine the meltdown during the lottery order announcements if the Knicks were in the top 3. :D

On the other pick, the pick would get deferred as you said.

Nah, if anything, Morey should be the one getting fined. He was supposed to be the guy holding a gun...

Martin was pulled from the game at halftime because he had been traded. Had nothing to do with last nights game.

Yea I'm pretty sure your correct too, we'll probably find out when all the dust settles, but it sounds like its just an option to switch on 2011 and then the 2012 would move to 2013 if it is protected.

I think what's most surprising is why didn't Sacto use their leverage to reap the benefits of taking on Jared Jeffries in exchange for the picks and Hill? Instead they held their nuts and watched Morey take them. For a rebuilding team like the Kings, they could use all the young talent they can get.

I don't see why not, Better to throw him out there than to go into the game a bit short. Out of all the player we hav got (Jeffries/Hill/Martin) Martin is already familiar with Adelman's system.

Great interview with Kevin Martin on 1140 KHTK (Sacramento). He gave a 25 minute plus interview...great guy...says all the right things.

So, are you saying that if the Knicks end up with the 1st overall pick in 2011, we would just be SOL on that one?

T-minus 5 hours until Kevin Martin inks a promotional deal with a Chinese company.

Wanted the cap space, plus Arn may have had something to do with this.

But I think they rather have the cap space and maybe sign a MLE+ player or maybe even a bigger name...to really put them in playoff contention year after year.
