Kings close to trading Martin for McGrady

By Adrian Wojnarowski, Yahoo! Sports 14 minutes ago

The Sacramento Kings have reached an agreement in principle with the Houston Rockets on a trade that will swap Kevin Martin(notes) for Tracy McGrady(notes), league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Along with Martin, the Kings will send Sergio Rodriguez, Hilton Armstrong(notes) and Kenny Thomas(notes) to the Rockets. Joey Dorsey(notes) and Carl Landry(notes) will go to the Kings.

Was all excited, until found out that Landry is probably included. This better expand to a three or four team trade where we somehow net a borderline All Star PF.

not cool ... if we lose Landry in the deal ...

... although Rodriguez and Armstrong could be useful pieces ... :(

But, if we give up Landry, that's feeling like a trade just to make a trade. I'd rather have Landry than Martin.

Wow, I thought Morey had a steal on this deal, but he had to give up Landry?!? That doesn't make any sense.

I am not thrilled with this trade.

It had better be T-Mac's Laundry and not Carl Landry.

I would have rather taken NY's offer.

Kind of funny that everyone (e.g. RealGM) takes over the wrong spelling of "in principal" vs. "in principle"...clearly shows how RealGM just copies from ESPN/Stein.

Pure speculation...what if it was that deal (and some picks changing hands):

    Successful Trade Scenario
    Congratulations on a successful trade.

Due to Houston, New York, and Sacramento being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Houston, New York, and Sacramento had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

I do NOT want to see Landry go. He is on the rise to be one of the best power forwards in the NBA. This is not a good deal for the Rockets.
