True...but if we going to tank this year, why not just trade away and prepare for next year's FA class?

I don't know about this trade now...the more I think about it, the more I don't like it.

But, thats why he does what he does and I do what I do. Morey may have a plan.

Bima...one of my favorite posters. Are you going to breakdown the Rockets offseason financial options after the trade?

Yep. Actually talked to Clutch yesterday about it. Be on the lookout for a front page article in the next week or two.

Can't believe Les would be fine with getting a player that may give you 60 games a year. Hell, I'll even discount his rookie season and this year (where he's missed 20 games so far):

72
80
61
51

Would have much rather have had Iguodala. I think this trade is a mistake. Kevin Martin is nice, if he is healthy, which he hasn't been his ENTIRE career. And we lose Landry for that? Would much rather have given up Scola. Dumb trade is dumb so far.

Reminder: Landry is in the top 20 in the league with a 21.70 PER, only makes 3 million per year, and is improving.

We traded him for an injury prone player making $10-$13 million over his contract who has a 17.14 PER (not even top 50).

Landry for Martin straight up would have been a rip, much less giving up a very valuable expiring as well.

This is from the Hollinger Chat:

Jon (NYC)

Why would Sacramento facilitate NYK signing 2 max free agents? Do they want the #25 pick (at best) in 2012 that badly?
John Hollinger
(12:15 PM)

Sac has nothing to do with it -- as near as I can tell they make the exact same trade whether Houston is in it or New York. It's Houston that would be doing all the lifting, and they want other assets (Hill, right to swap 2011 picks) in addition to the 2012 choice.

http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/chat/_/id/30889

So it seems trading Jeffries is just as important to NY as getting TMAC. As such, at least our horrors that Sac will get Landry + NY's picks etc will not happen as they have no interest in swallowing Jeffries contract. This looks like it may just be a 2 way with Sac or more likely 3 way with us getting Jordan and picks.

The one thing that scares me still is what if a 3 way is not done and Sac buys out TMAC? This would really put a sour taste in my mouth as he'll just walk over to NY or if he's smart, a contender...
