To be honest I think after losing Landry and his fire power off of the bench, it would be a smart move bringing Brooks off of the bench. Not sure he would like it, but to me it makes sense. The first unit has not been very efficient this year and Lowry along with Martin should really help that. Brooks can come in and be expected to put the ball in the hole and we don't lose alot off of the bench

Because people seem to think that Martin is golden.

It doesn't matter though does it, seeing as how this trade hasn't been finalized yet? The players still belong to their original teams as of now.

I can handle this trade. We needed a shooter in Kevin Martin and Luis Scola can hold down the fort down low.

kevin martin is a great player and we were very weak at the shooting guard position. Luis Scola is a good power forward and can start for almost any team in the nba, who btw was already starting anyway.

The Knicks have interest in Sergio Rodriguez, yes. If Les is willing to take on some salary (go over the luxury tax next year, MAYBE; they always seem to find a way out of that):

    Knicks: Tmac, JDorsey, Rodriguez
Rockets: Kevin Martin, Jordan Hill, Jared Jeffries, Hilton Armstrong, Knicks 2010 2nd rounder and 2012 1st rounder
    Sacramento: Carl Landry, Larry Hughes

    -ish?

He shoots well from the 3 as well though which is a key difference.

A guy shooting 40% from the field, 39% from the three, is significantly better than a guy shooting 40% from the field, 33% from three (T-Mac) or worse 38% from the field and 31% from three.

The high three point percentage of Martin makes him much, much more efficient of a scorer.

    Folks,

I suspect a whole lotta people have not seen Kevin Martin much. He's not a "big name" so people aren't happy about giving up Landry.

Well, before debating this further, please go to youtube to see some footage. Granted, highlights show people at their best, but it gives you some idea about his skill set.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZcENFKYAh4

This guy has size, good shot from distance, super quick release, handles, mid range pull up game, finishes around the basket, moves without the ball, including back cuts. Note how he flows in Adelman's system.

    Health is a legitimate concern.

    Talent is not.

    21ppg.

How about you look at his Career numbers? .451 FG%

    Kobes? .455

    Lebrons? .471

    Wades? .481

You don't know what you're talking about to compare Ariza to him shooting or scoring wise.

I think this is how it will go down and it works in the trade checker:

    Houston gets:
    Kevin Martin
    Kenny Thomas
    Jordan Hill
    Jarred Jeffries
    Hilton Armstrong
New York 2011 2nd round pick

    New York gets:
    Sergio Rodriguez
    Tracy McGrady

    Sacramento gets:
    Carl Landry
    Joey Dorsey
    Larry Hughes
    NY 2012 first round pick

You just described Ron Artest and we all saw how efficient he was. And by the way hes only shooting 35% from 3.

/\ Around $4M under the projected LT next season without Scola or Lowry re-signed.
