I don't see why the Knicks like Hill so much. They won't even play him. I always thought they were just hyping him to subterfuge Morey.

But Rodriguez for Hill would be great for us. We don't need another backup PG and Hill could probably be a decent backup PF/C. D'antoni's system needs a solid PG and Rodriguez would fit there. New York would probably need a bit more than that, but I really don't think Hill is nearly as valuable as he's been hyped.

A 6'10" PF who is young with potential, why oh why would anybody be interested in that?

Totally agree, Scola's game is based in his very high basketball IQ more than anything, that's why he contributes many intangibles that are not shown in boxscores....

As I said before, has you noticed how durable Scola's body is? he has not missed ONE SINGLE GAME since arriving to NBA, 100% regular season games, 100% playoff games....do you think we should ignore this fact? Who else in the Rockets has the same 100%?

BTW, he's still 29 for god's sake! I bet he has at least 6 years at his best shape, before a noticeably decline appears.

Have you guys tried a 3-team trade in the Trade Machine. NY has to give up $23 mill worth of salaries to make the deal work with. Chances are the Rockets replace Landry with Jordan Hill, David Lee, or a couple of picks. Calm down and take a deep breath till the dust settles. Geez!

    Wow.

Now I hope we really don't make the playoffs so we can be a lottery contender. Im a Hoya homer and WOULD LOVE if the Rockets could land Greg Monroe. To me, he would be a perfect fit for the Rockets at the 4. The guy is the best player out of Gtown since Iverson IMO. Even though he is not a defensive powerhouse he can block, rebound, create his own shot, good footwork, and most importanly is a team player first who can dish the ball as good as if not better than Yao.

The trade seems lopsided to me at the moment in favor of the Kings but I can wait until all the details come out before I rate it. Giving up your best low post and ppg scorer in Landry and T-Mac's expiring doesn't add up yet for KMart and filler. KT hasn't been exciting since he was with the Rockets.

I like the trade. I hate to see Landry go, but I think he played himself out of what we were willing to pay him this offseason. It makes it easier to now focus on Scola and Lowry instead of all three of them.

Plus this will take the stress off of Ariza and him being a "Number 1" scoring option and playing so many minutes. I think Ariza can shine in our system with the focus off of him, and this sets that up.

That's the real value in this trade. For months, Sacto has insisted on dumping the bloated contracts of Nocioni and Udrih in any trade involving Kevin Martin. Props to Morey for getting this one done without him.

I really don't think this deal is done. The Knicks have to be brought into it, at least I hope. I still want Hill and or a pick

Just a thought... Without Landry the Rockets no longer have a reliable offensive output in the second unit.

Will either Brooks or Ariza be moved to the bench in order to fill that role?

Why would the Kings pick up Jefferies and his 1 more year @ $7m, so the Rockets could get Jordan Hill??? Remember the Rockets-Kings deal is not contingent on the 3-way with Knicks.

Great point that's one reason why I think there will be more to the deal, possibly adding the Knicks

I'm awaiting a report like: "Kevin Martin out for season after suffering injury boarding a plane to Houston."

No it's not, but it is still out there that there is a possibility flipping Mac to the Knicks turning this into a three way deal

Martin just turned 27. He's only 7 months older than Landry. Landry isn't that young.

Landry is an offensive rebound hound. His defensive rebounding is very poor.

And getting rid of the 30yr old injury ridden player before the trade deadline for a very good player is a good thing. We probably would have come away with far less if we just let McGrady's contract expire.

Brooks I like this deal on the surface, do you personally think it stands as it is or the Knicks still jump in it?
