    no, no, no, no, no.

The whole purpose of Mcgrady being traded to NY is twofold: 1) to get rid of Jeffries and get the cap space for a run at 2 free agents this summer and 2) to make a push into the playoffs this season.

If McGrady is traded to Sacramento and bought out, then he is free to go to Lakers or Cavs and doesn't have to go to NY. Not to mention NY loses out on cap relief of dumping Jeffries.

Guys, this is Morey's way of forcing NY to come to the table with the picks. They give up the picks and they get both TMac and the cap relief and the kicker of a young pg (Sergio). They don't give up the picks and they get possibly nothing, no TMac and no cap relief.

    A starting lineup of:

    PG Brooks
    SG Martin
    SF Battier
    PF Scola
    C Yao

It's the most unathletic in recent memory.

I don't understand some of these fans.

How can you forget that T-Mac did not tell the team and coach but instead decided to tell Steven A. Smith that he was done for the season.

So correction, T-Mac mishandled his situation with the Rockets!

I am happy they banished his ass! And before you start calling me a T-Mac hater, I am the person who has two of his autographed jerseys and an autographed hat hanging in my room.

Seems like we gave up a lot for an injury-proned guy who shoots below 40% from the field. He is talented though, but so way Landry (Landy has a higher points per minute average than Martin does). We'll see how it goes...

They should've traded Brooks instead of Landry. The L&L Combo of Lowry and Landry is no more if this trade goes through

When healthy, Martin is an all star caliber player. I'm not sure Landy has as high a ceiling.

No, he's more like a career 45 % fg shooter.

And 11, 12, and 13 for the next 3 seasons is not overpaid to me. Actually, it should be a really good value for a player in his prime.

Clearly, his motivation is to get out of the first round and get that monkey off his back. I don't blame him.

    # daldridgetnt

Source: still "decent" chance TMac winds up with Knicks by deadline Thursday, despite trade to Kings. 1 minute ago from web

    # Adrian Wojnarowski WojYahooNBA

Before T-Mac can find himself on a contender, he has to prove he can play --- and he probably won't have the chance.

It seems to me like most people are upset because we didn't rape the Kings.

With McGrady not playing for us all year (pretty much), it always felt like we were trading nothing for something. So now when we , ::shock::, have to give up something to get something, people get pissed. I think the disappointment stems from the (possibly unrealistic expectation) expectation that we could get a good player without giving anything else up.

Like it or not, Martin is the best player in the deal. We traded from a deep position (power forward) to get a legit #1 option from a weak position. We didn't even have a true shooting guard on the roster this year (not counting TMAC) and now we actually have one.

I think this trade is fairly even and will work out of us in the end. Still, I hope NY does get involved and we can get Hill and/or draft picks.
