$48 million For Mo Taylor? ? The Rockets must be smoking ! It is no way he's worth it now, nor will he worth it in 3 years. This is one of those contracts the Rockets will regret in the long run. Even Matt Maloneys deal wasn't this bad. I can almost guarantee that in 3 yrs the rockets will be trying to unload Mo Taylor. Sometimes the Rockets are loyal to a fault. They could have offered Taylor 4yrs 30 mill that way they can have his bird rights. If he takes it and proves himself, then you can offer him another deal. Other than Francis, Mobley, and if he shows his potential Griffin, I don't like the Rockets tie up role players for more than 4 years.

    leebigez,

    Taylor's starting salary is:

    $6.4m

What you propose is a starting salary of:

    $6.52m

Many won't argue that 6 yrs is too long, but the starting salary is less than what you proposed.

    Good point Rocks.

Rasheed Wallace averages .204 rebounds per minute. Mo Taylor averages .192 rebounds per minute. If given Rasheed Wallace's 38.2 minutes a game, Mo's game average would be 7.34 rebounds a game, compared to Rasheed's average of 7.8 a game. This doesn't make Mo a great rebounder by any means, but hsi rebounding deficiencies don't seem as bad as they did before.

I disagree. The unasked next question is obviously "legitimate compared to what?" It is not a large leap at all to say that Hakeem was comparing his current situation at PF (Davis) with the PF on the team he just came from (Mo Taylor). He says "it's wonderful to play with a legitimate PF." He is NOT comparing Davis to Chuck or OT but to MoTay. If he came from a team that had a legitimate PF he wouldn't have needed to add the adjective "legitimate." In fact, the way he said it implies that he knows what it is like to play with a legitimate power forward (most likely candidates are Chuck or OT), just that he wasn't recently playing with one.

It seems relevant to me that Hakeem views MoTay as soft and he is just confirming what we already know: Mo Taylor is not a legitimate PF....like Antonio Davis.
