doubt Atlanta will want Cook's contract. Only way I see this working is we use our Steve Francis trade exception to sign him for a contract starting at 2.6 mil per year and if Atlanta insists we throw in a future second round pick to make it worthwhile to them.
Thanks, Baller. I was about to ask my other lone suffering Hawks fan (that'd be you, sir) on here to help explain why Zaza would be terrific here. You pretty much covered all the bases. I hope we do get him. Depending upon price, of course.
That's interesting. The last time I remember being asked my race on an application I was choosing "Caucasian" and not "American". WTF was that all about?
It went out of fashion with terms like Negroid, Mongoloid, and some fringe terms like Aryan, etc. I think in some anthropological circles those terms are still used. But for the most part, these days the forms say "white".
Great. Right after Ariza... another player I don't want. Zaza and Ariza are filler players, not building blocks.
Don't we have to have some sort of role players to compliment our stars (or future stars)? I think they are building blocks considering their young age.
True, and considering the talent in this year's free agency, Zaza might be one of the best out there. The only way to get the stars is via trade and I hope Morey is working on it.
Anytime (and yes, we're a special breed of suffering NBA fans liking the Rockets & Hawks). It just stinks our MLE is already used and our LLE isn't available. "Depending upon price" is exactly right when we're talking about a player like Pachulia, and in this case, a S&T seems to be the only feasible way this could happen. What do we give up to get him? The Hawks don't have any bad contracts (outside of Josh Smith, who I believe they will keep) so they'll undoubtedly want one of our young guys back. Now, we're getting into potential dealbreakers here....
I think Zaza would be a perfect target with a disabled player exception we may get from Yao's injury.
It might be better than saying your source is a friend's friend close to DM said this or that. With that said, its hard to believe anyone when they say a "source" or "sources".
Agreed, however if we do indeed receive this disabled player exception we damn well better make sure we reach a deal with Wafer first. Edit: Ahhhh, just read NIKEstrad's thread on this topic. I guess we're not allowed to split the exception on two players. If Morey gets creative he can try to sign Ariza with this exception then just use the MLE normally. That would obviously be ideal.
I dont know, but the guy sticking the middle finger is not wearing shoes and his socks are different colors...
