I'd be willing to bet that neither are available at 14, but we will both know soon enough. That is why draft watching and the hype and speculation leading up to it are always so much fun. :)

    Draftexpress on Thompson:

    Worst Case: Shorter Jordan Hill

Hmmm? Since we have the taller Jordan Hill, and a better player in PPat/Scola - is there any sense at all in picking up a 4?

With so many prospects in the 5 to 20 range one of these teams in bound to make a mistake. I sincerely hope that Klay Thompson's reputation as a "pot head" lands him at 14 for the Rockets. Something as ridiculous as that could help draft stock fall, and teams to screw up by taking the wrong guy.

I dont see it at all myself. I watch alot of UT BBall myself and always thought of Thompson as a very similar prospect to Jordan Hill in their size, skill level, etc.

Again, I would think that the Rockets would have quite a few players ranked higher on their draft board to move up to take him over those players.

If the Spurs like him, I like him..

Just wanted to point out that I would be content with either at 14. Losing a player like Lee for either of these two? Hell naw

I guess you never saw Chuck Hayes on offense during his first 2-3 seasons?

and Chuck still doesn't have a jump shot.

Not sure what to make of this. Is Chuck Hayes now Hakeem Olajuwan II? I also doubt that Biyombo has Chuck's heart. And was Chuck even drafted at all?

IMO, there are just too many unknowns with Biyombo. If he doesn't pan out (likely), it's a big hit against the Rockets.

I am not sure why we are so concerned about Biyombo. It's actually very likely that Morey isn't all that interested.

We don't need Chuck to have a jump shot. Nor will we need Biyombo to have one. Yea it would be nice if he were a Nowitzki/Howard hybrid, but can't he just come in to block shots and grab some boards for us?

This is an athletic big who can help us with the layup line that was our interior defense and as an added bonus he isn't a bumbling slow poke, plodding up and down the floor. He is an athlete who can run. Again not a surefire thing by any means, but in this draft, I think a good gamble to make in the 2nd half of the lotto.

I'm not sure about the smokescreen (it could well be or maybe not), but I do agree that taking a flier clearly isn't Morey's style. I could not agree more that one of Hill/Thabeet/Cousin needs to be given up on if we were to take a flier on Thompson or Biyombo. Patrick Patterson and Jordan Hill were not a good combination on the floor together, so he looks to be the odd man out especially having very recently added Cousin. I also don't think Thabeet is long for a Rockets uniform, but time will tell.

Tristan Thompson? Seriously Morey? He has upside but where is he going to play you already drafted a 6'9 PF last year, why add another one?

Scola might be on the way out?

I would prefer Marcus Morris or maybe even Jimmer any day over these two.

Would be great for us, but I doubt Luis is what they are looking for unless they see Cousins as a center long term.

Marcus Morris. He was the third most efficient player in college ball last season.

I've mentioned Marcus Morris a few times for about a couple of months. I watch a lot of big 12 ball so I know he's legit.

I'm cool with Vucevic at 14 if we can't move up.
He's 20 pounds lighter than Derrick Williams with less body fat and can still maybe lose 5-10 more lbs.

The main concern with him being a SF is his dribbles. It's a win-win bc he can play the 4 for sure.

Ditto. If we drafted Marcus Morris at 14 and somehow get Vucevic at 23, I'll be content with that. Granted both aren't defensive players but I think they can be big time contributors.
