I think this may be Plan C or D. Sell high on Parsons while his trade value is sky high for an all-star caliber player and then sign Iguodala to replace him? I'm not sure how the cap would all work out but its the only reason I can see us being interested in Iggy.
Is Iggy still considered a max player? I think he would be a better fit than Paul next to Harden, and would take on the defensive load for the front court. Interesting Iggy, JSmoove and Howard have all been linked to the Rockets, and are essentially the preeminent defensive players at their positions.
Iggy isn't a good/reliable 3 pt shooter and shoots about the % as Asik on free throws. Why would we need another playmaker when already have Harden and Lin? People are complain about the distribution of playmaking between those 2 already. He's a better defender than Parsons but he is also 5 years older and makes a lot more money. I think it will be a marginal upgrade at best. Parsons can only get better while Iggy has reached his ceiling.

Get Iggy, Millsap and Howard, trade Lin and Asik. Let Harden be the PG since McHale wants it anyway. Dream team! Harden Iguoadala Parsons Millsap Howard
You're almost there. 1 - Harden 2 - Iggy 3 - Parsons 4 - Asik 5 - Howard Bench Beverley, Anderson, Goudelock, Garcia, TJones, Ohlbrecht, second rounder You get Dwight to commit. You get Lakers to commit to terms of sign and trade. Sign Iggy outright. Lin, TRob, DMo, GSmith, White, cash out for second rounders and Dwight. As a favor for doing a S&T Lakers give us Goudelock back. This lineup I'd give up Lin for. Let Harden run for the top. He's essentially the point guard anyways. But now instead of Jeremy, you've got a bigger, longer, stronger, more athletic Iggy who is arguably one of the top 3 perimeter defenders in the NBA with blinding end to end speed, who can take it the length of the floor and finish or he can run the wing and finish with Harden. No need for a true point guard in that lineup. Harden can hide on the weakest of the opponent's perimeter offensive players. You can go big with Dwight and Asik. Big, athletic, fast.....that lineup would run 80% of NBA teams out the gym. Or you can actually go a lot smaller and quicker by simply inserting Bev and taking out one of the big guys. I'd move Lin to add Iggy and Dwight. Not too many combinations that I'd move Lin for. But Iggy or Paul...I'd do that if we could get Dwight to come too.
fyi iguodala is 6'6.75 in shoes so basically 6'7. imo thats the min height for sf before getting undersized. so in case anyone thought he was too short... but anyway he should definitely be on morey's 2nd fa list. other than shooting he has it all. and would be the perimiter defender we need. i think garcia' defense got overated by rockets fans.
Yes love this team! We get Harden out of the way mostly and Lin will finally blossom and be better than Chris Paul once that happens.
What worries me about Iggy is his Benjamin Button free throw shooting. Shot good his first couple of years, now he's only 10% better than Dwight. by the end of the contract he will be shooting 0% or possibly even negative free throws.
The Rockets have cap, and every agent wants it for their guy, but why #### with chemistry unless it's for a great player? Unless we get Dwight or Paul, picking up any player on a big multi year contract just doesn't seem like a Morey move.
Are some of you guys really buying this? There is NO way this move happens. Some dumb GM of some rudder-less team will pay Iggy too much money over too many years in a panic signing and regret it starting after next season. In fact I can see Billy King and his Russian billionaire splurging on Iggy only to watch them crash out of the first round next year. If we don't get Dwight, then sit pat and wait for next year. No Iggy, no Josh Smith, no Paul Milsap, no Al Jefferson (these guys are all old, will want too much money and wouldn't be enough to put us over the top anyways). I don't even know how good of a move Chris Paul would be. I just can't see Harden and Chris Paul sharing the ball. Harden knows what it's like to be the No. 1 now, I don't know how he'll feel about giving up the rock now. The 4 is by far the biggest weakness on the team anyways. If we whiff on Howard, wait for Love next year. Very hard to see him stay in Minny unless they have a ridiculous season next year.
Pointless move. The guy is also probably only a starter on a very talented team at this point, he is nothing more than a role player
He either really hated Denver or he listened to some bad advice, because I am not sure who is going to give him another big paycheck.
