Rashard .... 1) Has a history of disappearing late in games. 2) Has a history of sitting out big games and playoff games due to minor injuries. 3) Has a history of not responding well to physical plays. Webber and Peja are well known for these *attributes*. Would you disagree with someone if they called Webber/Peja soft? Exactly what other proof are you looking for?
rashard starting at nine or ten million really really scares me. i like the guy, and it'd be interesting to see the offense respond with him, but he's a severely flawed player as well. just saying, that's a lot of money. i guess you have to take a risk, might as well do it with the hometown boy.
I hope we acquire Lewis. Even if it doesn't work out here for him he would still give us an additional asset. Look at the Mavs and Suns....they always have the ammo to make trades and improve their rosters because they aren't afraid to hoard talent. Outside of T-Mac and Yao we don't have too many bonafide assets. This years draft is a perfect example. Two scorers with bigger contracts were traded for high lotto picks (Allen & Rochardson). The Mavs acquired D.Harris that way as well. Lewis may cost but if it doesn't work it's not like we can't trade him. I think it's easier to find a Battier type player then it is to find a very reliable scorer like Lewis....and he should get more open looks here.
Jabar was so slow, that in 1 playoff game; the other team(I forget who it was) got a technical foul called for playing a zone defense(they were illegal back then). The Lakers were well into their offense, but Jabar hadn't made it past midcourt yet. So technically the defensive center wasn't guarding anyone. That was funny.
Of course I would go with Rashard and I'm glad that the Rockets are interestin' in him and they're makin' a big push. Lewis is a great player a guy who could help when Tracy or Yao wouldn't be in a scorin' rythm or when they would be on the bench. He would be the great 3rd option. He can shoot he can post up. I hope Morey will bring there some good FAand maybe that would be Lewis. If we sing him we will probably trade Battier fot Wilcox
Before the addition of Mike James, I was all for getting Lewis despite our bigger need for a 4 and his softness/ inability to defend, even though it was and still is improbable to get him.Now I feel the the Rockets must do their best to cover the 4 spot by committee.
Same owner since the debacle. Where is Mirsad these days? I'm not Rashard, but if I were him, I'd care less about anything but the team that did pick me, of which I've become a relative icon, or money. I've still no idea what the hell the team was thinking.
I read here - Jeff said that Rashard will command near max money - 15 mil per season..... I would rather go after a power forward - McDyess who could help with power in the front court. 15 mil per year is a lot-puts us in lux tax land
I wish Isiah would get Rashard Lewis- they can afford him with deep pocket Cabelvision money-we need a tough power 4- not a finesse shooter
I had no room for Rashard in NBa live. My starting five PG: Hinrich Sg: TMAC SF: Lebron James PF: Bosh C: Yao Gordon and Morrision sat on bench for pass 4 seasons. I had 4 championships in row. swear with my life
Forget about Rashard? http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/basketball/magic/orl-magic0107jul01,0,4318763.story
