Let Span go back to Greece and cut Lucas. No more PG glut. I'm not saying they should do that, but they could. It's not like those guys are super valuable.

I agree with those who say that Rahshard is a 3, but I think he will ultimately transition to the 4 as he gets older (He can play 4 right now). T-Mac's natural position is the 3. He will likewise, transition to the 3 as he gets older (He should be playing the 3 full time right now).

T-Mac, Yao, and Rashard for the next 3 or 4 years? That is a Championship core, without a doubt.

We must find a way to get Rashard. Battier/Sura/ Alston, James, or Head ... whatever it takes. shard/ 4-3, T-Mac/ 2-3, w/ Yao ... for years baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amir Johnson would be nice, and I'm not completely horrified at the idea of Joe Smith. Those other guys though? Please god no.

    PJ: ancient.
Ely: no passion or drive at all.
    M. Allen: just plain sucks.
    Henderson: ancient AND he sucks.

*crosses fingers and hopes for a trade*

One more thing (I never double post ... or post that often, for that matter):

I really am starting to warm to Morey. He was smooth about the draft (even if you don't like the picks, at least you never saw them coming).

    Loved the Mike James trade
Loved the convincing of Bonzi Wells to take $2.5 to say in Houston
Loved the fact that he got two, second round picks for virtually nothing in this years draft.

Love the way he's going balls-out after Rashard.

Love Rashards rebounding and scoring ability. LOVE RASHARD!

If you would like Joe Smith then we should have kept Buck Johston way back when, sorry but Joe Smith dosn't equate to the Power Forward we need , I am not sure that Rashard Lewis does either! One thing about Lewis is that he has height and can jump so he might become a decent shot blocker.
    WELCOME HOME RASHARD!! :p

I don't know, it sounds fishy to me too. Although Les has been known to go after the marquee guy, it's hard to believe that they are able to hold 3 max (or near) contracts, as cheap as he is.

I think that they secretly hope that he goes for the money, or that Seattle calls his bluff if he says he'll only sign here (which I think they will do)

Uh... I didn't say I like Joe Smith as an option, I said I would not be horrified if we got him (especially compared to the other options). There's a small difference between "like" and "not horrified", you might notice.

Haha, too funny. Didn't JVG do something like this for James (Mike)?

We're lucky Rashard lives here in Houston so we can set up the first meeting out of the other teams.

I could tolerate him for the LLE but not for the MLE .That would horrify me.

we need a PF who rebounds, blocks, protects Yao from foul trouble.... Rashard is a pretty soft player who likes to play SF

Maybe it's a PR move and a real move all at the same time.

Morey wants us to know that they are serious about trying to improve the roster.

I would love to see Lewis here. Battier is not a guy who can get you over the hump, but Lewis is a guy who can help you get over the hump.

Chances seem slim but if we can somehow grab Shard then I'd welcome him here. This team sorely needs scoring like he can provide.

I don't know. The Knicks got Randolph for PF, and if they get Lewis their starting five would be:

    Stephon Marbury
    Jamal Crawford
    Rashard Lewis
    Zach Randolph
    Eddy Curry

If they can learn to co-exist - which admittedly is a BIG if - that's not to shabby for the East.

Plus, from a marketing standpoint, Lewis can only win by going to NY. So I can understand if he'd prefer to go there.

Well yeah, me too. I think we'd be insane to spend much of anything on Joe Smith... but there are worse low-cost options out there (such as most of the ones that article lists).
